TEMS DRIVE TESTER
TEMS DriveTester is a powerful tool that shows how easy, quick,
and efficient network
optimizationcan be. Easy to install and even easier to use, TEMS
DriveTester is the ideal real-time
measurement tool.
TEMS DriveTester consists of a lightweight computer specially
mounted for convenience duringdrive
testing. The computers bright, easy-to-read color touch screen
controls all aspects of the tool.
No additional boxes or input devices need to be connected. TEMS
DriveTester is a compact,convenient tool
for coverage and quality verification.

Main display view
The main display view is the central navigation screen
for the entire TEMS DriveTester application. From thisview, the
user can see a summary of main network
parameters and navigate to other views. Parameters
displayed in the main display view include: RxLevel
C/I
Collected call statistics from the drive test
(includingsuccessful, blocked, and dropped calls)
Collected handover statistics from the drive test(including
successes and failures)
The main display view is split when two mobiles are
connected. The left half shows RF informationparameters that
will help the user to identify where
he is within the network.
GSM views
Touch-screen navigation takes the user to a varietyof specific
views. These include the set-up screen,
where users can select default logfile storage, audio
alarms, call scripts, and a speed-dial list. Some ofthese other
views include:
Radio parameters view RxLevel, C/I, SQI,
TxPower, FER, and C/A Site and Neighbors view Serving Cell,

channel, and a color bar chart view on the serving
cell and neighbor cells comparing or indicating
the ARFCN, BSIC, and RxLevel GPRS view RLC throughput for both
downlink
and uplink as a percentage or in kbit/s. It also
contains information on timeslots used, C/I worst,own data % and
other data %
GSM scan Band, BISC, and RxLevel
Events view Shows the time, RxLevel, cellname, and cell distance
for events
TDMA support
For customers migrating TDMA networks to GSM,
TEMS DriveTester also features TDMA functionality.It can support
one GSM phone and one TDMA
phone simultaneously, or it can collect from just one
or the other at a given time. TDMA views include:
TDMA Handoff view channel, RSSI, BER, cellname, and distance
before and after handoff.
Handoff access attempts and RSSI delta are alsoincluded
TDMA Quality view Shows RSSI, BER, SQI, C/I,
Power, and MRLQ
TDMA Site and Neighbor view Shows channel,cc, RSSI, and cell
name
Logfile storage and transfer
A CompactFlash storage card allows the user tosave data
accumulated during drive testing in TEMS
logfile format. The storage card is removable, so that
saved logfiles can be transferred to other tools such
as TEMS Investigation for additional analysis
andpost-processing.
Freeze functionality
When the Freeze option is selected, TEMS DriveTestersuspends all
of the current measurement dials on
the display, but continues to log data from the drive
test session. This allows the user to take a closerlook at the
network air interface at a specific point in
time without stopping the collection of data.Map view
The map view displays one parameter throughoutthe drive test.
The user can select a new informational
element anytime during the drive test. Cell site
support is provided.Summary report
A summary report is automatically generated at the
end of each drive test. The report displays statistics

on voice calls, data calls, ping, exceptions, and radio
frequencies. A map with the drive route is also
