If you remember our score on a scale of 1-10 in Jan. 2019 was 5.94 with a median score of 6. The results are in and we have improved how you all are feeling by 1.86 points to a 7.81 with a median of 8. That is a great improvement and I am proud that we are moving in the right direction. Keep up the GREAT work!!!

Happy New Year PQs! I trust that you all had a wonderful holiday season and that you were able to finish all of those gifts that you wanted to give as presents in time. If not, it’s ok finishing them for this year! Hard to believe that 2020 is already here, but it is! (Cont’d, President Message) The Board took your comments and the feedback and has put together a plan for FY20. The details will be shared at the January Business Meeting. We recognize that the lighting is an issue at Seville and will not continue with doing hand work or make and takes at meetings because of it. Our focus for 2020 will be on the Quilt Show, member workshops for Boutique items, more time to sit-n-sew and enjoy each other’s company and of course some lectures on new and fun topics. Feedback on the UFO Pres Challenge was that you all really appreciated it and would like to continue with it in 2020. You can find the form to add your UFOs to on our website under the FORMS section. Please complete it and return it to the February meeting with $1 per item. Rules will be the same and I will determine the winnings based on the number of participants and projects. Finally, we are looking for nominations of Organizations with whom we can partner with and they benefit from our Opportunity Quilt and the 50/50 fund raising in FY20. We are asking for nominations from the membership and the Board will narrow the list down to 5 for the Membership to vote on. If you have a charity that pulls at your heart or you are closely affiliated with, please nominate them by sending me an email with the information of the Organization and what your connection is etc. We would like to try to stay local so that we can build a connection with the organization as a Guild. The January Meeting is a week away and the Board and Committee members will share our outline and plans. Your feedback is always welcome and we know that each of you will continue to step up and contribute to the success of the Guild in 2020.

Cheers to a New Year!

JANUARY MEETING

Our programs and educational opportunity events for 2020 cover a broad range of interests and techniques from traditional to modern. The calendar is almost ready for publication after a Board review and will be presented at our January Business Meeting.

ON THE ROAD TO QUILT 2021

In pursuit of looking for new projects, I found three (3) great websites full of inspiring ideas:

diary of a quilter.com -- sewing with scraps.com -- craftstaci.com Now trending are the new colors for 2020:

Pantone selected “Classic Blue” (19-4052)

Kona chose “Enchanted Green” for its cotton solid

Behr Paints picked “Back to Nature” (S340-4)

Community Outreach (Gale Pittman, Chair)

Hello ladies! Hope you all had a happy holiday season. A new year makes me thankful for friends and family. I made some time for quilting while I had extra time off work too. I feel like we had a productive year of community outreach. The final amounts of donations for 2019 are listed below. You were most generous and many people benefited by your skill and caring. I saw some really beautiful quilts that were so creative. We made tons of hearts for the babies and the cutest bears. The older kids benefited our group helping with clothing donations. All our small parts sure did add up to some big numbers at the end of the year. As I said in a FB post, please be at the January meeting. I have been the recipient of some big amounts of fabric donations......plus I organized my fabric cabinets at home. I will be putting them on the freebie table. Going, going, gone. I will also have a table of fabric for charity quilts. Lori and Mary Ann received the fabric and bundled them by color groups. Some may not necessarily have enough for a baby quilt but add some of your own fabrics to it and it will soon make a quilt. I would like to have you pick one up if you are interested in community outreach. There is no time table as to when they need to be returned as these are ongoing projects. Again, thank you all.

PQ Retreat 2020 (Judy Wedekind)

Heard the December party was a blast!!! The planning is coming along nicely for all to enjoy their Retreat weekend with no stress or pressure, with loads of sewing and laughter. Couple of quick highlights:

1. Registration is now closed. We voted in November to cap at the current 34 participants. 2. Will send out a balance due emails before our January business meeting. All money is due in February. 3. If you didn’t hear, we are trying something new this year, assigned seating for tables, this way

participants won’t have to stress about where they will be sitting if they arrive at 5:00 pm. In January, I will have a signup sheet, so you can tell me your 4 participants table will be or email me.

4. Hotel Room Reservation link: https://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/T/TPAOMHX-QUL-20200423/index.jhtml?WT.mc_id=POG
