Educational Excellence: Facilitate and lead with the planning, conducting, evaluating and assessing of quality, client centric teaching programs that comply with statutory, regulatory and BHI Group requirements. Also assist with the provision of pastoral care, retention/disengagement and placement coordination to ensure a successful student experience through a team-based approach. Liaison: Liaise with students, community, parents, Student Life, Recruitment and other relevant stakeholders about ACFE and our students through coordinating events such as Information Sessions, Enrolment processes, Orientations and network meetings and visits. Information: Utilise broad course knowledge to liaise with the Marketing team to assist with the promotion of Foundation Studies programs via actions such as the upkeep of webpages and marketing collateral. Success in the position will result in a high performing and engaged team, student achievement and improved education and employment outcomes, compliance and quality education and the development of opportunities to grow market share. The Coordinator - ACFE Programs is a member of the leadership team in the Foundations Studies unit and is part of the Centre for Adult Education and Foundation Studies. The position is responsible for liaising with students, parents, relevant industry groups, community services providers and employees at all levels.

Foundation Studies provides pre-accredited programs; English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS); accredited programs, such as learner support, general education for adults, visual arts, professional writing and editing, English language studies; programs for students with disabilities (transition and work education); and senior secondary school programs such as VCE, VCAL and iVCAL. The ACFE unit is responsible for the pre-accredited A-Frame programs and ACFE Projects (Capacity and Innovation Fund (CAIF) Grants).

This position is full time, requires 38 hours, 5 days a week attendance, and will include 0.2 EFT training duties.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Enhance our reputation as a leader in the quality of our teaching delivery and academic standards by:

teaching in and coordinating the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative, customised, client centric, high quality programs

monitoring consistency in the delivery of unit learning outcomes and other quality assurance matters

coordinating the pastoral care, retention/disengagement and practical placement programs

ensuring, in conjunction with the Quality Advisor, teaching staff within the program area comply with legislative and policy/procedure requirements to meet all internal and external audits and QA requirements

Enable students to achieve their qualifications and improve their educational and employment pathways by:

ensuring teachers within the program areas develop high quality and current resources, teaching materials and assessments and employ high quality, engaging and innovative delivery methods

ensuring teachers submit timely Evidence of Participation and results in line with BHI Group timelines and protocols

managing learner conduct and behavioural issues in line with BHI Group policy and procedures

implementing recommended reasonable adjustments for students registered with Student Life

Proactively support the efficient use of BHI Group resources and better meet client needs by:

ensuring timely and effective recruitment of students, including facilitating information sessions, leading interview/selection processes and conducting orientations.

inspiring teaching and support staff to continually improve performance and productivity

evaluating, redesigning and implementing improvements to the ACFE, processes and systems

being a part of the Foundation Studies leadership group and providing professional advice and assistance

assisting in the development of new courses to support business growth

Assist in increasing brand awareness of Programs and the BHI Group through positive representation by:

liaising with the Marketing team to review, manage and disseminate course information in an accurate and timely manner

actively participating in student experience events, including industry trade shows and BHI open days which may occur over weekends

coordinating moderation and validation involving community or industry partners

assisting the Head and Manager in the development and implementation of new programs

Create effective stakeholder relationships through enhanced collaboration by:

contributing positively to the BHI Group organisational culture by:

o working collaboratively with Human Resources, timetabling, other teaching teams and business supports

o working collaboratively with the quality unit and student records

o modelling the desired behaviours of our Codes of Conduct, BHIG Values and Workplace Health and Safety leadership

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE

The Qualifications and Expertise required for the Coordinator - ACFE Programs role are:

Relevant degree in education and/or management or equivalent

TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

Expertise

1. Educational Excellence: Demonstrable education currency in a wide range of applied teaching methodologies, techniques and standards appropriate to subject areas; demonstrated skills in teaching, leading and managing teaching programs and developing learning materials; strong understanding of learning theory, particularly in relation to teaching pre-accredited programs in an adult/community setting.

2. Compliance Coordination: Solid ability to coordinate the broad range of administrative requirements that support vocational education and training, including high-level administration and organisation skills.

3. Learning Management Systems: Demonstrated proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e. Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for students and ability to coach others to do the same.

4. Educational Management: Demonstrated skills in leading and managing teaching programs. Proven ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards. Strong understanding of competency based training and assessment.

5. Teaching Leadership: Excellent communication skills required to lead an effective and motivated team of teachers and support staff; demonstrated ability to identify both potential and existing issues and setbacks within a team, and effectively resolve them, motivate and guide teaching employees to improve their productivity and performance.

6. Empathy and Cultural Awareness: Demonstrated high level awareness of, and responsiveness to, people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds and emotional contexts, is able to shape responses for people, and see issues from the perspective of others.

7. Problem Solving: High-level ability to solve problems – seeking relevant information, liaising with stakeholders, analysing issues and proposing workable and positive solutions to problems. Ability to implement and review the effectiveness of solutions.
