HISTORY The Temasek Secondary ChineseOrchestra (TMSCO) was first established in2000. From a Guzheng ensemble, it wastransformed into a full-fledged orchestra in2001.
TRAINING Training is held twice a week inschool. Members will learn to play at least onemusical instrument and develop an appreciationfor Chinese classical music. In addition, theylearn the basics of ensemble playing such aslistening to each other and harmonising as anorchestra.
Members who exhibit strong musicianship willalso get to lead their own sections or take onthe role of student conductor.
MISSION To develop young musicians whostrive to shine on stage, aim for aestheticexcellence, and develop strong camaraderie.
OPPORTUNITIES• Perform in school-based events such as
the Chinese New Year celebrations, andschool productions such as Three BeatsIn A Bar.
• Participate in the SYF ArtsPresentation.
• Participate in combined concerts orcollaborations such as the SingaporeChinese Music Festival in 2019.

HISTORY Beginning as part of the Music and DanceClub in 1990 and having performed in musicals, suchas the Pied Piper, the group became formally known asthe Temasek Freestylers in 2002. Under thementorship of Mr Terence Then, the group hasperformed well in the Singapore Youth Festival ArtsPresentations as well as in competitions. Currently, theTemasek Freestylers is approximately 55 membersstrong.
TRAINING Training is held twice aweek in school. Members learn differentdance techniques such as hip-hop,popping and locking.
MISSION To inspire students to strivefor excellence in dance and be able toexpress themselves with energy,purpose and perfection.

Once Upon A Time, as well as schoolevents like Speech Day and OpenHouse.
• Perform in public performances suchas the Singapore Tennis Festival 2018.

HISTORY The Temasek Wind Ensemble(TWE) is one of the school’s long standingCCAs. Under the direction of the BandDirector, Mr Zat, an alumnus of TMS, theschool band has played to full house concerts.Currently, the Temasek Wind Ensemble isapproximately 80 members strong.
TRAINING Training is held twice a week withadditional sessions conducted nearer tocompetitions and performances. The TWE alsoparticipates in music exchanges and attendsworkshops. Apart from learning to play amusical instrument, members are also trained inmusicianship in which they learn to listen andplay effectively as an ensemble. Members whoexhibit strong musicianship will also get to leadtheir own sections or take on the role of studentconductor.
OPPORTUNITIES• Perform in outdoor public concerts, and
school productions such as Three Beats InA Bar, the annual Practice Room and theSecondary One showcase: Studio Session.
• Participate in the Singapore Youth Festival(SYF) Arts Presentation.
MISSION To strive for members to uphold acommon goal of mastering a musicalinstrument and demonstrate artistry throughmusic.

MISSION The members all uphold acommon goal to develop stagecraft andthey abide by the values of performanceexcellence, confidence building, creativityand teamwork.
HISTORY Serious Play started as an interestgroup and was soon established as a core CCA in2010. It has grown from a group of eight membersto nearly 50 members who take on roles such asdirectors, actors, costume, makeup artists andprop masters.
TRAINING Besides training twice a week,the members also get together for dramaappreciation excursions and develop theirskills through a drama training camp.

HISTORY The Temasek Acappella Group
(TAG) was first established in 2001, as an
interest group from the Temasek Chorale.
Then known as St Elmo's Fire, the group's
first major performance was at the
Samsung Christmas Tree @ Orchard Road.
In 2005, the group formally changed its
name to Temasek Acappella Group and
achieved accolades in competitions such as
B'Dazzled, the Singapore A cappella
Championships and T-Net Youth Got Talent.
Currently, TAG has approximately 20
members.
TRAINING Training is held once
a week in school. Members learn
vocal skills, choreography and
stage presence.
MISSION To inspire students to have a passion
for contemporary acappella music and aim to
achieve excellence in singing and performance.

the Esplanade and the biennial TAG Concert.
• Participate in competitions such as the
Singapore A cappella Championships and
B’Dazzled.
• Perform for major events such as the Singapore

and various ministry events including the HDB
Awards Ceremony, Ministry of Transport Award
Ceremony, as well as the Supreme Court
National Day Observance Ceremony.
