Welcome to the very fi rst edition of the TEMAC Bulletin. This will be a regular publication which will keep you informed of the latest news from the TEMAC organisation and introduce you to our company and its people.

Over the years, the company has expanded its sales activities to become one of the leading central European manufacturers and distributors of fl uid sealing products, supplying the power engineering, chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical and general machine-building industries throughout the world. TEMAC operates under the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems and has a strong commitment to research and development, working with leading international material suppliers to introduce new sealing solutions. The company is independent and privately owned, ensuring a fl exible approach to the market and a high level of personal care and service. In recent times, TEMAC has increased its global reach and is now able to meet the needs of its customers for high quality products and services, worldwide.

2011 proved to be tremendous year for TEMAC. We increased our turnover and profi t signifi cantly and made forays into new markets such as China, Korea and Turkey. All indications are that 2012 will be even more successful with continued growth in our existing markets and new opportunities in, as yet, untapped markets. This year will also see the introduction of some exciting products and services, giving our customers new

and better solutions to their sealing problems. Our strategy is to innovate, constantly improve and provide the highest levels of customer service. Finally, we are underpinning our increasing presence in the European and World market by exhibiting, for the fi rst time, at Achema in Frankfurt. TEMAC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ladislav Vrbacky as the Technical and Quality development manager for semi-metallic gasket production. Ladislav comes from an automotive background, advising large and demanding clients such as Federal Mogul and Valeo. At TEMAC automotive he has been instrumental in the change of product technology from the traditional soft and sandwich gaskets to metallic and multi-layer steel seals. In this capacity, Ladislav oversaw changes in material supply chain, material handling and production processes as well product development and cooperation with end-clients. Ladislav’s role will be to manage all quality and technical matters relating to the manufacturing of semi-metallic gaskets. With increasing growth in this area, it is important the requirements of TEMAC customers for high quality products are metLadislav said: “I’m looking forward to applying my experience and knowledge from the automotive industry to ensure that a new quality focus is built into every TEMAC semi-metallic product - I’m really looking forward to the challenges ahead.”

TEMAC spiral wound gaskets approved by the Nuclear Industry

Temasil NG has met the requirements of Ta-Luft VDI 2400. The material was tested by accredited German testing institute MPA University Stuttgart and obtained excellent results, well below the threshold required for certifi cation. Temasil NG is the third TEMAC gasket product to be awarded VDI 2400 certifi cation (our spiral wound product Spiratem 123 holds two approvals) and refl ects the company’s desire to reduce its environmental impact and keep abreast of developmental trends within the market place.

TEMAC introduce Temagraph HPTemagraph HP is high strength, multi-layered graphite sheet designed to operate at high pressure and temperatures (up to 200 bar and 500°C). The material comprises 0.55mm thick perforated steel layers laminated with graphite foil but without adhesive. The result is a graphite sheet material with outstanding resistance to load which can be used in the most arduous of duties.Temagraph HP can be used in highly loaded joints such as tongue and groove fl anges, heat exchanger fl anges and higher pressure class standard fl anges typically found in refi ning, chemical and oil industries. Gazprom is the leading extractor of natural gas in the world and Russia’s largest company. The Company’s share in the global and Russian gas reserves makes up 18 and 70 per cent respectively. TEMAC has been awarded a large contract for the supply of industrial gaskets to Gazprom, cementing the good relationship between the two companies and rewarding the efforts and the hard work of our sales and production teams.

New Technical & Quality Development Manager, Semi-Metallic Gasket Production

TEMAC semi-metallic gaskets have been approved by the Romanian Nuclear Activities Authority (RAAN). The authority has awarded a large contract for the supply of spiral wound gaskets to the heavy water plant in Drobeta Turnu Severin. This contract represents a major success for both our sales and production teams who worked hard to win the approval.
