1 Poor Economic Condition
34 local people have been selected and trained as the CORPs (Community’s Own Resource Persons). They collaborated with MAP to facilitate the community development process and transformation. The team supported 932 local people to increase their family income through improving their sustainable livelihood. Some relevant trainings, special assistance and capital access were given to selected people to improve their economic. Established 5 Savings and Loan Groups (SLGs) plus a Cooperative; community-based microfinance model on Tello Island to improve communities’ financial access for savings and microloan.

2 Poor Health Many trainings and informal discussions on health issues were facilitated to the communities particularly for children and women. About 1,702 students have been educated on personal hygiene and healthy behavior (in collaboration with the school) meanwhile 907 women were educated on child and maternal health (MCH). 34 local women have been selected and trained as health promoters (cadres) to disseminate key health messages to other community members.

3 Agriculture The team has provided relevant trainings and special assistance on organic farming to 1,012 local farmers. About 981 people received various vegetable seeds and some have succeeded to harvest crops yield with good quality. Some students of vocational high school also facilitated to learn on organic farming in our Farmer’s Training Center.

5 Fishing The team trained and assisted 98 local fishermen in using and maintaining the gill nets properly. Some of them received gill nets, fishing boat, boat engines, and ice box. About 11 fishermen were assisted to develop freshwater fish (river-nile tilapia) breeding. We also facilitated a Self-Help Group (SHG) of fishermen as the media of self-empowerment among local fishermen.

6 Disease Outbreak
MAP collaborated with the local heath provider (Puskesmas; Health Center at Sub-dsitrict level and Tello Hospital) to identify TB suspect and provide appropriate treatment. 61 TB patients received food aid (milk, egg, green bean) to increase their nutrition consumption. Some training on TB prevention and treatment also facilitated to the key persons in the communities. 210 households received the water filter for providing safe water for their families.

7 Earthquake The team facilitated three training sessions on earthquake risk and our response to 301 local people particularly CORPS and students.. 34 young people (2 per village) have been selected and trained as the Disaster Preparedness Youth Committee (Pemuda Siaga Bencana) in Tello Island.

11 Sea Destruction
The team collaborated with the local authorities to prevent the Sea Destruction by facilitating some discussions among the local fishermen. All fishermen who received physical aid and special assistance from MAP were obliged to stop using the bomb and throwing garbage to the sea.
(Promoting Holistic Health, Preventing Disease and disasters and providing treatment or specific health interventions)
1. Promoting Holistic well-being:Many people have succeeded to improve their life quality through improving sustainable livelihood (fishing, agriculture, business, etc), practicing good values (behavior), and preserving the environment. Hundreds of local farmers have been adopting organic farming (mostly have felt comfortable to use animal feces for making organic fertilizer) and some raised their crops yield particularly vegetable. Apart of increased income (higher price of crops), they also could provide more nutritious food (fresh and healthier vegetable) for their family. Some fishermen were benefited by significantly increased income through using appropriate fishing equipment tools like gill nets, fishing–boat engine, ice boxes (fish storage), and raise freshwater fish as an alternative in the stormy season. They also felt proud of their contribution in the sea preservation. Some microloan recipients have improved and expanded their business with good business practice and appropriate financial management. Most of them wanted to greet the customer (hospitality) and provide good product (service) quality. Many households are healthy after consuming safe drinking water through water filter. Many participants (school aged-children) of Non Formal Education (NFE) have increased their knowledge and shown better character as they were also encouraged and taught on good values in their life (like honesty, respect other, and responsibility). A Cooperative; community-based microfinance model has been legally registered in the District office and run to improve the financial access of the communities.
Assessment of progress against main Impact Objectives:
(Promoting Holistic Health, Preventing Disease and disasters and providing treatment or specific health interventions)
2. Preventing Disease and Disasters
Many local people (particularly women and children) are now more aware of common disease prevention and healthy behavior. They started to adopt healthy behavior in daily life like washing hand, cleaning their house, drinking safe water, consuming more nutritious food (vegetables, fruit) etc. Most of the local women knew and understood about common child disease prevention and minor treatment. They brought their children for immunization at the local health provider. Increased knowledge and awareness of students on personal hygiene and healthy behavior. Mostly students want to wash their hand, brush their teeth, and keep their body cleaned. The health promoters continued to disseminate key health messages particularly disease prevention to the community members. Most of the key persons are able to identify disaster risk and its reduction effort. The communities were facilitated to draw their mitigation plan with participatory approach (Now 15 villages have the mitigation plan). About 34 young people have been selected as the Disaster Preparedness Youth Committee in all villages.
Assessment of progress against main Impact Objectives:
(Promoting Holistic Health, Preventing Disease and disasters and providing treatment or specific health interventions)
3. Providing treatment or specific health intervention
A strategic partnership on TB eradication program has been built between MAP, Puskesmas (Health Center at Sub-district level) and Tello hospital. A written MOU containing a comprehensive effort (identification, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention) was signed and run by those three parties. Some TB-affected people have been identified and treated. About 61 TB patients (plus suspect) received food aid (milk, egg, and green bean) for increasing their nutrition. Some of them have gained more weight and become healthier. After being trained and assisted, about 70% of the local health workers have increased their skills to diagnose and treat the TB disease. Mostly sick people particularly with TB disease wanted to seek appropriate health care to the local health provider.
