Hale Day Camp (HDC) offers a wide variety of summer camp experiences.
From our Traditional Camps to our Adventure Camps to our Counselor-in-
Training (CIT) Program for teens, we deliver a summer of fun for campers aged
four and up! Whether your camper joins us for the season or just a few sessions,
we’ll fill their days with adventure and have them home in time for dinner.
We believe in the power of traditional camp activities in the great outdoors.
Situated in a remote corner of Hale’s 1,137 acres, our private campus features
its own pond, lodge, athletic fields, and archery range where campers swim,
hike, canoe, fish, learn arts and crafts, and more. HDC offers a safe place for
campers to explore, make friends, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Financial Aid
Hale is committed to making outdoor education and recreation available to everyone, no matter
what their economic circumstances may be. To that end, individual donors and corporations
contribute to a fund that offsets the cost of program tuition for people in need.
If you face financial constraints or challenges, see our website to learn more. Applications will be
available January 10 and are due by February 29. Funds are limited and requests are reviewed on a
rolling basis.
Tax Credits
In years past, the IRS made a Child and Dependent Care Credit available to working parents who
needed to arrange for care of their children (under 13 years of age) during school vacations. The
cost of day camp (but not overnight camp) could have been counted as an expense toward that
credit, and the credit could have been up to 35% of qualifying expenses, depending on income.
Parents could have claimed up to $3,000 of unreimbursed expenses paid in a year for one qualifying
individual, or $6,000 for two or more qualifying individuals.
Hale in no way claims that the IRS will make such a credit available again, and does not provide tax,
legal, or accounting advice: this material is being provided for informational purposes only, and is not
intended to provide, and should not be relied on for, tax, legal or accounting advice. You should
consult your own tax, legal, and accounting advisors before engaging in any transaction.
Transportation
Hale Day Camp is pleased to provide free bus transportation for Brookline, Dedham, Dover, Jamaica
Plain, Medfield, Milton, Needham, Newton, Norwood, Readville, West Roxbury, Walpole, Wellesley,
and Westwood. See below for stop locations. Please note that pickup and drop-off times are subject
to change and that there is no bus service during Session 5.
A Hale Day Camp staff member accompanies each bus for the duration of its route and ensures your
camper's safe journey to and from camp each day. Campers may sign up for one of six buses at the
time of registration.
