Last external number redialWhen you initiate an external call the system automatically stores allthe dialled digits, irrespective of whether the call was successful ornot.

Save external numberWhen you make an external call, you can save the number in orderto redial the same number easily. Any previously saved number iserased.

During Calls

Group listening (loudspeaking)This function lets other people in your room listen to your telephoneconversation. You speak in the handset while the other party´s voiceis heard on the loudspeaker.

During an ongoing conversation:

Press to switch between loudspeaker and handsetWhen the key lamp is lit, the other party´s voice is heard on theloudspeaker.

Note: You can adjust the volume. See section �Programming and Adjustments� on page 34.

ConferenceWith this procedure you can include up to seven parties in aconference. Only the conference leader can admit participants.During the conference a tone will be heard every 15th second.

You have an ongoing conversation (Line 1) and want to establisha telephone conference. You will become the conference leader.

Dialling during a connected callWhen calling interactive tele services, e.g. telephone banks, you needto use Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) signals. You need toactivate the function during the call.

During an ongoing call:

When You Receive a Busy Tone

When You Receive a Busy Tone

Busy extension or external lineIf you call an extension and receive a busy tone or get no answer orall external lines are busy you can use these methods:

Automatic callback

If a called extension is busy or there is no answer:

PressNotes:You can also press: CAB (see display) or Callback.

Replace the handset to finish procedureYou are called back (recall ringing signal) when the ongoing call isfinished or the next time a new call is finished. You have to answerwithin eight seconds, otherwise the Callback service is cancelled.

Lift the handset when you are called backThe system calls the extension.

Note: Callbacks can be activated on several extensions atthe same time. Callbacks from additional lines will recall onthe Line 1 line.

Forwarding Call

Forwarding CallIf you do not want to be disturbed or will be out of the office, youcan have all calls to your extension forwarded to a pre-programmedanswering position. During forwarding call you will hear a special dialtone and the Forwarding Call lamp indicates that your triple accessline is forwarded. You can still make calls as usual.

Forwarding Call can be direct, on no answer, on busy or to anotherinformation service facility.

Order direct Frowarding Call from your own extension

The call is forwarded to an individual position or up to threepredetermined common answering positions (depending on the typeof the incoming call). Programmed by the system administrator.

PressNote: Function key pre-programmed by systemadministrator. If you order Forwarding Call with the handsetoff-hook or the loudspeaker on, press the Forwarding Callkey twice. You can also use the procedure below.

Abbreviated Numbers

Common abbreviated numbersBy using abbreviated numbers, you can make calls simply bypressing a few keys. The common abbreviated numbers start at(7000- 7999) consist of 4 digits and are stored in the exchange (bythe system administrator).

Lift the handset and dial the common abbreviated number

Individual abbreviated numbersYou can program up to ten frequently used telephone numbers onthe digit keys 0�9 and use them as individual abbreviated numbers(if this function is allowed).

PressNote: The programmed number may consist of amaximum of 20 digits plus a �*�, which indicates thesecond dial tone from the public network. The display onlyshows the last 20 characters in a number.

Last name - Space - First nameIt is not necessary to enter all the characters, just as many to get asclose as possible to the requested name when you start to search.

Group Facilities

(Must be programmed by the system administrator)

Call pick-up groupPeople working in a team can have their telephones programmedby the system administrator to form Call Pick-up groups.

In a Call Pick-up group, any member can answer any individual callto group members.

Notes:You can also press CUp (see display).

One Call Pick-up group can serve as an alternative toanother group. Calls to the alternative group can only beanswered when there are no calls to your own group.

Group huntingAs a member of a group of extensions that is called by a commonnumber, you can temporarily leave the group.

Other Useful Facilities

Call ListingWith this function all unanswered calls to your telephone will belogged. By use of the soft keys under the display you can browsethe log, make calls to logged numbers and delete logged numbers.

A function key must be programmed by the system administrator.The key lamp is switched on and will flash when new unansweredcalls have been logged, since last time the key was activated.

Your telephone must be idle and unlocked to be able to browse thelog.

To browse the number log

The key lamp is switched off and the display shows the number ofstored numbers, time, date, name and number of the lastunanswered call:

Authorization or PIN codeIf you are assigned to use an authorization code (4 digits) you cantemporarily change your telephone to the authority level connected tothis code. You can use the code for one call only or you can open thephone for some calls and lock it when leaving the phone.

Programming of ringing signalsYou have 6 programmable ringing signals on your telephone. Thedifferent signals can be programmed on access lines, additionallines and multiple represented lines.

0 = Silent.1 = Periodic ringing signal.2 = Delayed periodic ringing signal.3 = One muted ringing signal.4 = One muted delayed ringing signal.5 = Immediate speech connection with single tone burst controlled by function key.6 = Immediate speech connection with single tone burst.

Note: Options 5 and 6 are not available for multiplerepresented lines.

Programming of ringing signal tonecharacterThere are 10 different programmable ringing signal tone characterson your telephone, each corresponding to a digit between 0 and 9.

PressThe current tone character is displayed.

Press the corresponding digitThe telephone rings with the chosen character.

Handset and loudspeaker volumeUse the volume keys to change the volume of the handset orloudspeaker during a call. Adjust handset listening volume inhandset mode. Adjust loudspeaker volume in monitor mode.

Ringing signal volumeUse the volume keys to adjust the ringing signal volume when thetelephone is idle or ringing. Adjusted volume is stored.

Mute ringing signalYou can supress the ringing signal for an incoming call.

Note: This function is only available in newer softwareversions of your telephone. If the Mute key lamp is turnedon when you press the key in idle state, your telephonesupports this function.

Silent ringingIf you do not want to be disturbed by the ringing signal but still wantto be able to answer an incoming call, you can switch off theringing signal. Incoming calls are only indicated by a flashingaccess line lamp and display information.

Note: This function is only available in newer softwareversions of your telephone. If the Mute key lamp is turnedon when you press the key in idle state, your telephonesupports this function.

Press to switch off the ringing signalThe Mute key lamp is switched on to indicate silent ringing. Theringing signal will automatically be switched on the next time you liftthe handset or press any key.

Audible SignalsThe following different tones and signals are sent from theexchange to your telephone.

Ringing signalsThree different ringing signals inform you about the type of theincoming call. The signals shown in this section are the most usedsignals worldwide. Many markets use signals that are adapted forthe local standards. If you get a signal that is not described or youcannot identify, ask your system administrator.

Lamp indications

Extinguished lamp The function is not active.

Steady light The function is active or supervisedline is busy.

Slowly flashing lamp The line (or function) is put on hold.

Rapidly flashing lamp An incoming call.

Light with short breaks Ongoing call.

Display Information

Display InformationThe display gives you feedback information such as time and date,traffic state and connected telephone numbers. The followingdisplays show examples of the different states your telephone is in.

When an information end with three dots (...), this means that thesystem is working or waiting for your action. When an informationends with a exclamation mark (!), this means that no further actionis possible.

Idle telephoneWhen your phone is idle, the upper line shows general information.The middle line shows your extension number. The lower linepresents lead texts for the soft keys.

Outgoing callWhen you make an outgoing call on your telephone, the middle lineshows both the traffic state and dialled number.

If the called party´s telephone is diverted, the middle line shows thediversion information. > is the diversion symbol.

The dialled number (4444) is directly diverted to number 2222.

Incoming callWhen you receive an incoming call the middle line flashes thecalling party´s extension number.
