Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dimapur/Kohima, Imphal, Jamshedpur & Kozhikode New Delhi, 14th March 2019: TRAI, through its agency, conducted Independent Drive Tests (IDT) in six cities viz. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dimapur /Kohima, Imphal, Jamshedpur & Kozhikode Drive tests were conducted to assess the network quality provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers for voice and data services. New Delhi, 14th March 2019: TRAI, through its agency, conducted IndependentDrive Tests (IDT) in six cities viz. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Dimapur /Kohima,Imphal, Jamshedpur & Kozhikode Drive tests were conducted to assess thenetwork quality provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers for voiceand data services. 3. The key findings of Drive test are summarized below:

(i) Ahmedabad City: All the TSPs have met the .::2% of Drop Call Rate exceptBSNL (3G). All the service providers have met the benchmark of >=95% ofCSSR except Tata (2G). Maximum throughput has been observed in 3G &4G network of Tata & Airtel respectively

(ii)BangaloreCity: All the TSPs have met the .:s.2%of Drop Call Rate exceptBSNL (2G). All the service providers have met the benchmark of >=95% ofCSSR. Maximum throughput has been observed in 3G & 4G network ofBSNL& Airtel respectively.

(iii)Dimapur/Kohima City: Only Airtel (2G), Vodafone (3G) and RJIo (4G) havemet the .:s.2% of Drop Call Rate. Airtel (2G) and RJIo (4G) have met thebenchmark of >=95% of CSSR. Maximum throughput has been observedin 3G & 4G network of BSNL& Airtel respectively.

(iv)Imphal City: All the TSPs have met the .:s.2% of Drop Call Rate and>=95% of CSSR. Maximum throughput has been observed in 3G & 4Gnetwork of BSNL& Airtel respectively.

(v)Jamshedpur City: All the TSPs have met the .:s.2%of Drop Call Rate and>=95% of CSSR. Maximum throughput has been observed in 3G & 4Gnetwork of BSNL& Airtel respectively.

(vi)Kozhikode City: All the TSPs have met the .:s.2% of Drop Call Rate and>=95% of CSSR. Maximum throughput has been observed in 3G & 4Gnetwork of Airtel.

The drive test in the city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat LSAwas conducted for aperiod of 6 days during 7th to 12th January 2019. Definitions

Call Attempt: An attempt to achieve a connection to device attached to atelecommunication network.

Block Call <=3%:A call that is not connected because there is no free channel inradio access network to serve a call attempt.

CSSR (Call Setup Success Rate) >=95%: Ratio of Established Calls to CallAttempts.

Drop Call Rate <=2%: An ability to maintain a call once it has been correctlyestablished.

Hand over Success Rate (HOSR)>=95%:Ratio between successful handovers tohandover requested. (Handover is a process by which a mobile telephone call istransferred from one base station to another as the subscriber passes theboundary of a cell).

Rx Quality >95%:Measure of quality ofvoice.

Download Throughput: Data transmission rate for downloading a test file from atest server to a test device.

Upload Throughput: Data transmission rate for uploading a test file from a testdevice to test server.

Webbrowsing delay (secs): Average time taken to fully load the website tested.

Video Steaming delay (secs): Average time taken to fully download the videotested.

Latency (m secs): Time taken for a packet to reach the receiving endpoint aftertransmitted from the sending point.

Time Out (TO):Observation cannot be taken due to Time out.********
