level Provides a set of universal ideas which serve as
lenses to study content in any mathematics field Connects the Unit Understandings to the

application of process standards
2. Vocabulary, if necessary, to align to TEA’s vocabulary
3. Models to reflect use and appropriateness, clarity of steps, and association to algebraic process, where appropriate
4. Specificity, including examples, for clarity
8.3A Added example of similarity using proportion vs generalization; removed reference to preservation from transformation definitions
8.8D Added same side interior and same side exterior angles in parallel lines
8.10A Added orientation of figure; clarified distinction between orientation of figure and orientation of vertices
8.12G Focused on contributions to a savings plan that can be planned in advance; removed scholarships, grants, etc.

• Streamlining opportunity to do real shake up of Conceptual Biology
• May consider removing Overarching Understandings and Questions from the IFD as only a separate document like the Concept tree.
• May be adding Sample Guiding Questions (not just the links) to the IFD behind the paid wall like Performance Assessments
New HS courses• Add Anatomy and Physiology for 17-18 (possible)
• Forensics may be the next course to be added.

• All courses have been in enhanced revision since early 2015 featuring:• Streamlining the content
• Enhancing the backward design elements
• Unifying curriculum elements to improve teacher planning
• 6th-11th grade enhancements posted this year
• K-5th, Government, Economics, Regional World Geography posted in draft form (February)
• Course versioning coming to the system in the summer (World Geography)

• All performance assessments have been rewritten plus rubrics
• STAAR Analysis is forthcoming

Content Spotlight
• World Geography• World Geography has currently two organizations in the
system: Regional and Conceptual
• The conceptual is more streamlined
• Course Versioning in the System• 3rd learning will create a solution in order to have
multiple course organizations hosted at the same time
• New REGIONAL World Geography course with backward design elements will be available
• Majority of teachers are used to regional approach
• Will not be as streamlined as the conceptual approach
