Glass Carbomer® What is it exactly?

• Glass Carbomer® is not to be confused with Glass Ionomer

• Glass Carbomer® is a nano base Fluoride Aluminium-Silicate Glass with mineral additions giving it unique characteristics

• Glass Carbomer ® has a liquid silica supplement for high flexural and compressive strength and low solubility

• Glass Carbomer ® contains fluor/hydroxy apatite particles to start and aid the remineralisation proces

• With Glass Carbomer® Tech, utilizing the natural processes of mineralization, we are able to create an entirely biological structure that has properties (such as hardness, durability, strength and acid resistance) equivalent to natural dentition.

From 2007 to 2009 the patient received orthodontic treatment. A large cavity developed.

In 2009 a class II restoration was made with GCP Glass Fill. In a second stage the top layer was replaced with composite (cosmetic reasons). (delayed sandwich)

Clearly visible is the ongoing mineralization of the dentin. The dentin is mineralized into fluor-hydroxy apatite. The nerve reacted normal during treatment and is still vital.
