One of the oldest spring symbols in the world is the egg. The oval shape of the egg is the same shape of a

birds, and many other animals are hatched from eggs.
In the Easter Special assembly, children and teachers dramatized the beginning of life from an egg. To
keep up with the tradition our little chefs dished out Easter eggs and also crafted Easter bunnies & chicks
puppets for their portfolios.
Rangoli making 7th November (NIRVANA)
Rangoli is a traditional Indian art of decorating the entrance to a house.
Diwali is celebrated, to herald the coming of the goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Rangoli
is created at the entrance of the house to welcome the goddess herself.
Traditional rangolis were made of rice powder and with time, people started using variety of
colours. The reason why our ancestors used rice powder was to feed birds, insects and the other
lives that thrive in the soil.
Rangoli is a timeless tradition that is followed all over India. Children with the help of teachers
created beautiful patterns to welcome the festival of lights.

Face painting is the artistic application of special water-based cosmetic "paint" to a person's face.
From ancient times, it has been used for hunting, religious reasons, and military reasons . For several decades it
has been a common entertainment at county fairs, markets and other locations that attract children and
adolescents.
Face painting has become very popular among children at theme parks, parties and festivals. Children simply enjoy
getting their faces painted and so are their mothers who
enthusistically shop for non toxic paints.
We had our tiny tots displaying butterflies, sun, night and day, river to name a few.
FRIENDSHIP DAY(NIRVANA) “Each moment spent with a friend is a moment added to time”
A friend fills our life with loads of happiness! They are there in all our ups-n-downs, they help
ease our worries, patiently listen to us and never get tired.
Friendship is the warmest of all bonds. It forms the foundation to human faith, trust and companionship.
Trust, support, loyalty, understanding, empathy, intimacy, conflict, anger are some of the emotions
that can be attached to this bond. Each moment spent with a friend is a moment added to time.
Friendship Day is celebrated to let our friends know how much they are needed and prized. Our young
Shalomites enjoyed listening to stories based on friendship. They tied bands on
the wrists of their friends and promised to remain friends for ever.
RAKHI MAKING(NIRVANA)
Raksha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Shravan. The festival
signifies the unblemished bond of love between a brother and a sister, which is one of the deepest and
noblest of human emotions. 'Rakhi' is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding by tying a holy thread
around the wrist. It means 'a bond of protection', and Raksha Bandhansignifies that the strong must protect the
weak from all that‟s evil.
This ritual is not confined to a family but also extends to the neighborhood. When a Rakhi is tied on the wrists of
close friends and neighbours, it underscores the need for a harmonious social life, where every individual co-exist
peacefully as brothers and sisters. All members of the community commit to protect each other.
Our young Shalomites enjoyed preparing “ Eco friendly rakhis” for their portfolio files.
