How to Live before you die

A) How did the speaker capture the attention of the audience in his or her introduction?

B) How did the speaker maintain the engagement of the audience throughout the

speech?

A) Jobs, captured the audiences attention by being humble. And by speaking about the

hardships he endured while growing up and during his

time in college

B) Jobs, kept the audience engaged by; Talking about his past and

present, in a way that the listener didn’t get bored and felt as if he was

a friend of family member.

Which of the ten TED Commandments does the speaker best follow? How/why?

I believe the TED commandment rule Jobs used was, Dream big!

Jobs, referenced that if he didn’t take chances and

listened to the norm, Apple ® wouldn’t be here or what it is today. if he wasn’t diagnosed with Cancer a lot of decisions he made most likely wouldn’t

have happened.

Evaluate the speaker in terms of dynamism from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest).

What could the speaker have done to increase his/her dynamism?

I rate his dynamic as a 2, he was behind a podium, so kept his movement to a minimum, he

still kept me engaged

What tips were used from Garr Reynolds or Nancy Duarte?

He established at the beginning of the

presentation his life pre-college and

Apple® and what could be done before

one dies

What have you learned about delivery based upon watching your presenter?

Speak about what you know, keep it at a steady pace, you

will keep you audience.

Compare and contrast your speaker to Sir Ken Robinson from the two videos you watched (“Schools Kill Creativity” and

“Changing Education Paradigms.”)

Jobs, Spoke of hardship,

persiverance and will, keeing the audience in tune to what he

had to say.

Ken, is used comedy by making them laugh and past experiences to get his idea across, to keep them engaged

Know your subject matter, don’t over think things, keep calm and become friends with you audience they're

there for you.
