• EliteBook 8560W• Ports (right vs left)

– Rt. Port for charging USB device• 10-key Pad• Main Keyboard and Touchpad off center• Multigestures on the touchpad (Video)

– Scrolling (middle button) – Can Make the middle button function like the far right one– Pinch to Zoom (anytime you have something to zoom in and

out)– Disabling the touchpad (double click upper left on pad) – light

goes on or off

Course Content Import

• Now part of a Course– Keeps Imported Tests Private

• Add Page to Left-Hand Sidebar of Course– Add Course Content Import Portlet to New Page

• Brings Exam View tests into the LMS Online Test Builder for Administering – Images now come

• Need Training if Need to Use This for First Time• David sent a handout to current Course Content

Submitting First Week Attendance

• September 2 (8 am) to September 5 (noon)• October 28-31 - 8 am opening on Friday of first

week and closing noon on Monday of next week• Must have Gradebooks and Attendance Setup and

updated by Submission Time– We use Gradebook Setup like we did for Midterm

(Verification Week and Final Grades)• Handout for the 3 types of Online Grade and

Attendance Submissions in Fall and Spring Semesters . . . Special scenarios listed.

LMS Fixes

• Exporting Attendance Names to Excel– Names sometimes cutoff; full names now

• Students now prevented from uploading 2 of same filename in a file exchange

• Listings Less Wide and Less Scrolling to Right

– Next upgrade will help Instructions in a Coursework assignment be longer

Office 2010 Security Messages• Click Enable Content on Message Bar or Backstage

View if File is Safe– The Message Bar displays a warning when you try to open

a file that contains active content, and then lets you decide if the source is trustworthy

Red Protected View More Serious than Yellow

• If you do not see the Enable Editing button, and the red Protected View Message Bar appears, there could be more risks if you exit Protected View. If you know the sender of the file is reliable, click the File tab, and then click Edit Anyway in Backstage view.

• Inserting Videos Directly into PowerPoint and Playing . . . Try these steps!

• On a blank PowerPoint Slide:– Click INSERT – Video – Video from File– Load the wildlife.wmv file from the Videos Library– It will load quickly and provide you with a “play”

button
