Competition Rules

All applications must involve an industrial collaboration – there must be at least two partners, at least one of which must be an industrial/commercial organisation

Funding is available at up to: 75% for Basic Research (50% for B2B) 50% for Applied Research 25% for Experimental Development

Grants are paid quarterly in arrears against actual spending

All projects are monitored through quarterly reporting and the appointment of a Monitoring Officer

To register your ‘Intent to Submit’:

After signing into the ‘Private Area’, click on ‘Registration of Intention’ …


… you will then be asked to choose the Technology Priority (from the drop-down list)

… and submit the Project Title


After submitting you will be given a Unique Reference Number (your Academic Partners will need to know this Number)

… and an invite to download your Outline Application Form

What to do before the Outline Stage Deadline


The Outline Application form is a Microsoft Word Form which should be completed off-line.

The first two pages request summary info such as project title, technology priority,

abstract and timescales


Project Organisation & Management

Potential Impact & Risk

Project overview & relevance to the Competition

The next six pages request information against each of three criteria:


Financial summary information is then requested, including a breakdown of contribution and requested grant per partner


Finally, there is a form for each partner requesting organisational & contact details

On the Je-S website, log in as normal …

In the ‘Add New Document’ page,

Enter, from the drop-down menus:

2. Validate3. Ask your office to submit4. Create a Document for

1. Send these Nos. to the lead applicant.

2. Add to Financial Page (Page 10) of the Outline Application Form

To submit your application, log back into the ‘Private Area’ and click on ‘Download & Submit’


If you are submitting more than 1 application click the appropriate submit button


Decide which form you want to submit …


Click on ‘Browse’ to point to where the completed file resides on your system.

NB. It must be closed.

Then click on ‘Begin Submit’


Once the file has been successfully submitted you will receive an online acknowledgement


Forms need to be uploaded by Midnight on the 6th February 2006.

Je-S academic Finance Forms need to be submitted by 4pm on the 6th February

2006.

Notes:

The server will be busy on the closing date and you may experience delays in uploading.

It is advisable to upload your Application prior to the closing date, you can overwrite them.

Applications arriving after the deadline will NOT be accepted.
