(1800-1877)announcedatechniquewhichbecamethebasisofmodernphotography.Hecalledit"calotype"(Greekfor"beautifulpicture").

•  ThegreatadvantageofTalbot'smethodwasthattheprocessinvolvedbothanegativeandapositive.Thenegativeimage,thecalotype,wasrepeatableindefinitelyinapositiveprint,finallyallowingmultipleprints.
