Every Day, whether you know it or not, you are faced with word problems. For example;

How much money should I bring for lunch? Don’t you have to use math and reading to solve this problem?

When you go to the movies at the mall, don’t you have to read and use math to figure out how much money you will need?

When you attempt to open your locker each day, don’t you use math and reading to open your lock?

1. Predict using title, pictures, and headings.

2. Read, reread confusing parts, look up any unfamiliar words.

3. Respond and react by coming up with opinions, feelings and solutions…always check to make sure your solutions are accurate.

Now, let’s look at an example!
