Initially, courses are disabled and will not be seen by students.

To activate a course, click on settings.

Page 9: Technology for Teaching

ANGEL provides a convenient way to e-mail your entire class– the roster is automatically updated as students add or drop your course.

Page 10: Technology for Teaching

Check this box so that students will get e-mails without having to check the ANGEL website.

Page 11: Technology for Teaching

You can view the course roster on ANGEL or on eLion.

Page 12: Technology for Teaching

Requesting that students post photos on ANGEL is a good way to learn a lot of names. (Or remember any you’ve forgotten!)

Page 13: Technology for Teaching

You should post your syllabus on ANGEL, and you can list exam and quiz dates on the calendar.

Most of the content you add to ANGEL will fall under the “Lessons” tab.

Page 14: Technology for Teaching

ANGEL includes software for writing a website.

Or, you can just add a link to the course website.

You can post practice exams, solutions, and other files directly to ANGEL for your students.

You can also create surveys, quizzes, and discussion forums for your class.

Page 15: Technology for Teaching

Under the “Manage” tab, you can set up an ANGEL gradebook to let students check their grades at any time, and to provide a backup to any local copies of your class grades.

Page 16: Technology for Teaching

I usually skip the “Gradebook Wizard” and simply create the categories and assignments I will use myself.

Page 17: Technology for Teaching

You can choose the categories, their point values, and even have ANGEL automatically drop the lowest couple homework scores.

Page 18: Technology for Teaching

You need to add each assignment before grades can be entered.
