• Operation with a control unit When associated with a control unit from the TYXAL range, the SIRX is designed to alert you using an audible signal. Any event will be indicated by the siren using different sounds, for example: - intrusion alarm and tamper alarm, - fire alarm, - distress alarm (can be configured - switch 4), - technical alarm (can be configured - switch 4), In the case of an intrusion or tamper alarm, the siren sounds: - 90 seconds if the default is no longer present - or 4 cycles of 90 seconds, if the default is continuous. In the case of a fire alarm due to the triggering of a Tyxal (DOFX) smoke detector, the siren sounds for 90 seconds. With a specific fire modulation. • Autonomous operation Thanks to its smoke indication transfer, pre-alarm, chimes and distress features, it can communicate with other radio devices without going through the control unit, i.e. autonomously. Possibilities with associated products: - a DOFX smoke detector will trigger the fire alert (specific modulation), - an outdoor infrared detector will trigger its pre-alarm feature, - a COX door/window magnetic contact will trigger its chimes feature, - a MEX personal help button will trigger the distress alert. 1 - Warning beep

If you use the timer mode (entrance timer),the triggering of the alarm is delayed so theuser has time to disable the system afterentering the premises.During this time the siren emits low beeps inthe case of intrusion detection. These beeps can be disabled on OFF.

2 - Ackn. sound presence

During the system’s surveillance statuschanges, the siren emits “knocks”:- 1 short “knock” when it is switched on- 2 short “knocks” when it is switched offThese ackn. beeps can be disabled on OFF.

3 - Sound level of the On and Off acknowledgements

When switch 2 is set to ON, the volume ofthe acknowledgement sounds can be adjusted using switch 3 on the siren.

4 - Distress and technical alarm

- A specific distress alarm sounds afterpressing the Tyxal (MEX) inset.

- A specific technical alarm sounds as soonas a technical fault occurs, except for thefire alarm.

Warning beeps can be chosen instead ofthe audible signal.Note: In any case, all types of signals last

45 seconds.

Note: When the 8-zone Tyxal control unitautomatically switches on, the siren emitswarning beeps (depending on switches 2 and 3)The users will be warned that the system isabout to switch on.

2 LOCATION AND MOUNTING

Choosing the location- Indoors only and with an alarm control unit

in a protected area (corridor, entryway,etc.).

- On a flat surface, with enough spacearound it for the siren to be opened up.

- In an open area for the sound to travel asbest as possible.

- Avoid proximity with large metallic objectsor an electrical switchboard.

Mounting- Open the siren casing by unscrewing the

closing screw, then carefully remove thejumper of the HP connector linked to thebase.

- Mount the base in accordance with thelocation precautions.

Declaring radio products to the siren

Set the SIRX to product recording mode- Press the TEST button on the siren for

approximately 5 seconds, the siren emits 2 beeps. You then have 5 minutes (reset for eachdeclared product) to declare your radio products.

Declaring the products

• DOFX smoke detectorPress the Test button on the detector forapproximately 5 seconds, the siren emits a“Beeep” and the DOFX emits a high pitched sound.

• outdoor infrared detectorPress the test button on the detector, thedetector emits a beep and the siren emits a“Beeep”.

• COX door/window magnetic contactPress the test button on the detector, the COXemits a beep and the siren emits a “Beeep”.

• MEX personal help buttonPress the SOS button on the inset for approxi-mately 5 seconds, the siren emits a “Beeep”.

Important: The SIRX will accept a maximumof 16 radio products. If this number is reachedor if the product cannot be declared, the sirenemits several beeps.

Exiting the product recording modeYou can exit this mode either:- automatically, 5 minutes after the last product

was declared to the siren,- or by briefly pressing the Test button on the

siren, which emits a beep. When you exit the product recording mode, thesiren switches to Test mode for 5 minutes.

Removing the products from the siren- Open up the siren (tamper alarm open).- Press the Test button for 30 seconds.- A beep (or a specific sound according to

switch 3) is emitted to confirm that you canrelease the button.

switch 3) is emitted to confirm that you canrelease the button.

Important: If you clear the siren, it will nolonger receive any commands from thecontrol unit.

Important: If your siren is operating in autonomous mode with associated radio productsand you wish to record it on a Tyxal control unit, then:

- the “smoke detector” and “personal help button” products are removed. They can only bedeclared again on the control unit.

- the “outdoor and indoor” detector products are still present. The siren must be supplied with power and must not know a control unit (blank).

Set the control unit to Maintenance mode

With the CSX 20 / CSX 40 control unit:- The control unit must be in maintenance

mode (press the ON and OFF buttonssimultaneously for 5 seconds on an alrea-dy recognized remote control or keypadand open the control unit’s battery cover).

- For 5 seconds, press the ON button on theremote control or a Keypad (productmenu).

The control unit emits a beep and the frontpanel indicator light is steady.

With the CSX 80 control unit:- Use of the CLRX 80 is mandatory.- See the CCRX 80 or CLRX 80 user guide.

Declaring the siren to the control unit

- Press the TEST button on the siren. Thecontrol unit and the siren emit a beep, thecontrol unit’s LED “5” (siren) lights up.

• outdoor infrared detectorpress the test button on the detector orsimulate a presence in front of it, the sirenemits warning beeps for 45 seconds. “pre-alarm”.

• COX door/window magnetic contactEvery time the door/window is opened, thesiren emits 2 Ding-Dong “chimes” notes. On a detector, you must wait 10 secondsbefore producing another “chimes” sound.

• MEX personal help buttonPress the SOS button on the inset, thesiren sounds the “distress” tone for 45seconds.

Note: All audible signals can be stoppedbefore their timer runs out by pressing theTest button on the siren for approximately 2seconds.

7 CHANGING BATTERIES

For a siren associated with a control unit:

The low battery indication is heard eachtime the system surveillance is switchedON/OFF. It is a series of 5 short “knocks”.Set the control unit to “Maintenance” modeto replace the batteries.

For a siren in autonomous mode:

The low battery indication is heard on thesiren as a series of 5 short “knocks” everyhour.

Important: You must use identical newLR20 type batteries (same brand, samedate of manufacture).

Note: There is no low battery transfer feature for declared products on the sirenin autonomous mode.

8 SIREN TEST

Tip: We recommend that you test the ope-ration of your siren before each long periodof absence and after each time you replacethe batteries.

Testing the siren with the control unitThree possible ways for testing the siren:- either press the “test” button on the control

unit (control unit battery cover open)- or press the “ON” button for more than

5 sec. on a control device,- or go to the “warning device test” menu on

the CLICX control keypad with display.

Each warning device in the system (siren, transmitter, and control unit siren) will emit ashort sound one after the other, then thecontrol unit will emit a beep to confirm thetest.
