Sandvik DS421-C is a rock reinforcement drill rigspecialized into cement grouted cablebolts installa-tion in underground mines and tunnels. The SandvikDS421-C is capable of installing up to 25 meterslong cable bolts with several steel strands per hole.The drill rig is provided with an on board cementmixer, a cement bags platform and a steel strandreel. It is therefore autonomous for more than ashift.The drill rod handling system has a capacity for 19pieces of 1”1/4 diameter, round MF drill rods. Therecommended drill hole size for this application is51mm.However alternative hole size can be selected withadvice from your Sandvik local contact. The steelstrand diameter is normally 15.2mm, of either plainsteel or bulb anchor strand. The bolting operation isperformed by a single operator located away fromthe drilling, grouting and cable installing module(CBH Cable Bolting Head).As all the Sandvik drill rigs based on the NC7 carrierfamily, the Sandvik DS421-C is designed for safety.For example, most of the daily and routine checksare done with both feet on ground.

BH15, BH18, BH22, BH24, BH27, BH30, BH40,BH50, BH60 bolting heads are fully mechanizedrock bolting with hydraulic drifters RD314 (BH15-BH30) and HL510 (BH40-BH60). BH15-BH30 aredesigned to be used with TBR60 boom and BH15-BH60 with SB120S Boom.

The versatile bolting head construction allows all themost common bolt types or combinations to be usedwith minimum modifications.

Combined frame and turning head design, roof sup-port cylinder and strong index cylinder etc. improvebolting accuracy and productivity. Also electricallycontrolled resin shooting system and cement fillingmethod from hole bottom ensure high quality boltsand performance.

The bolting head is designed for 16mm...28mmrebar bolts and 39mm Splitset bolts by only chang-ing the magazine bolt holders.The bolt length can be changed without any addi-tional parts hydraulics modifications within a rangeof over one meter.

Maximum bolt plate size is 150mm x 150mm.
