Testimonials from candidates who have completed their VRQ qualifications

Steve Fisher, Gas Manager at Southway Housing Trust completed his Level 4 VRQ in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing: “The experience throughout the assignments has been very valuable and rewarding so I can recommend this course to other like-minded people in our industry. Thank you very much to CORGI for setting up this VRQ.”

Laura Grey, who is part of the gas management team at Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, and is also registered blind, completed the Level 4 VRQ in Social Housing. The Trust has over 5,000 homes with a gas supply: “It took twelve months of study and practice to achieve the certificate but I am very proud to be one of only three women in the UK to achieve this. We have an excellent record for maintaining gas servicing levels and I will now work with the rest of the team to ensure this high standard continues.”

Gary Smith, Heating Services Manager, Asset Management, for the Metropolitan Housing Association: “I have enjoyed completing the Level 4 VRQ in Social Housing. There are questions within the modules that make you turn over all the stones to ensure you get the information required, whilst at the same time making you think about what you actually do within your job role with regards to gas.”

Andy Steen, HME Contract Manager, A1 Housing (Bassetlaw) Ltd said: “I found the Level 4 VRQ in Social Housing very informative as it gives managers of both private and social housing the knowledge of the regulations and legislation as well as where to implement it in particular circumstances. I can now work with fellow gas managers with an increased knowledge of gas management procedures.”

Dave Watts, Gas Section Team Leader at Kensington & Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation successfully completed both the VRQ in Gas Safety Management in Social Housing and the VRQ in Facilities Management. With the organisation responsible for over 10,000 properties, 6,500 of them with a gas supply, gas safety was a crucial issue: “The courses have made me feel more confident in my role, filled in gaps in my knowledge and should increase my value as an employee. I should be very well qualified for any role in gas management.”
