OUR SERVICES
ABC Maritime and its clients benefit from its experience in operating tankers and offshore vessels in West Africa for more than 30 years.
During this time, we have established our sound and recognized reputation and have built up trading knowledge, local relationships and gained significant experience by operating vessels for renow-ned players such as Total, Chevron, Tullow Oil, Perenco, along with local counter parts in the oil industry.
Our Nyon office, along with our local and on board staff are mul-tilingual and multicultural which enables us to succeed in this chal-lenging environment.
In addition, ABC Maritime has developed particularly strong rela-tionships with a network of close dedicated agents, suppliers, engi-neers and repairers in West Africa (Gabon, Congo and Came-roonand and Ghana) which is crucial when working in these areas where custom regulations are rather complicated to handle and it is of extreme importance for the shipment and delivery of our equipment and spare parts.

OUR EXPERIENCE IN THE BITUMEN MARKET
With the delivery of “San Benedetto”, ABC Maritime obtained the management of their first Bitumen tanker in the fall of 2001. San Benedetto was an excellent purpose built bitumen tanker with independent cargo tanks. With her, ABC Maritime was able to establish both a good reputation and close working ties with oil majors such as TOTAL, REPSOL and CEPSA. From that time, ABC has developed into one of the most respectable operators within this very niche market. A key element to this success has been the ability to call on a pool of experienced officers and crews who have been retained by the company over long years of employment, in addition to giving the opportunity for extensive training by frequent rotation within our small bitumen fleet.
Having both commercial and technical management, has allowed ABC to develop close relationships with the major charterers and traders and to garner a close knowledge for this part of the oil industry. As part of this development, the Owners have renewed their bitumen fleet by adding 3 x 4,900 deadweight bitumen tankers in 2016, namely “San Bacco”, “San Biagio” and “San Benedetto II” which now gives a fleet average age of 2 years. Working closely with the builders and designers in China, ABC has been able to optimise commercial characteristics of the vessels for draft, heating and economy whilst developing an overall improvement for the operational quality of the new vessels.
Over 1500 Masters, officers and seamen currently employed and an extensive database of several thousand seafarers.
Our representative office in Odessa (Ukraine) has now been ope-rating for 15 years and gives us direct access to one of the biggest pool of seafarers. From Odessa, we provide training sessions under supervision of professional seagoing personel. The theoretical trai-ning is enhanced by the use of our own simulators. In addition, we have direct access to the Philippines seafarers pool where we have our own team operating since 2011.
We consider that a motivated and loyal crew is our most important asset. Therefore, we are investing in our crew as well as building a personal relationship with our officers and crew that includes:
A very close contact with our senior officers who in turn ensure that our junior officers and crew are able to see a career path which enables them to “grow” with and within the company. We have Mas-ters and Chief Engineers who have spent most if not all of their careers with us, starting as ratings.
A close follow-up: Our senior officers follow up on crew perfor-mance onboard so that we are able to provide additional training as may be required or warranted.
A system of incentives, including loyalty bonuses, health care, as-sistance for families and annual contracts. We have been able to achieve a retention rate of over 92%
A corporate experience: we offer a range of short term positions onshore (project managers, superintendents, crew operators) to our masters and chief engineers.
CREW MANAGEMENT AND CREW TRAINING
Our crewing department provides full crew management services to our fleet.
Starting almost twenty years ago, ABC Maritime has developed a significant experience and expertise in construction supervision, conversion and major ship repair & overhaul. Building or converting over 60 vessels including FPSO conversions. We were involved from the very early stage in design approval (BV), building and commissioning of a number of diesel electric azimuth self-propelled accommodation barges. In addition, we were deeply involved in the building, upgrading and commissionning of several FSIVs in the US, Viet-nam, Singapore and Holland.
Most of our newbuilding are intent to operate in either difficult places such as West Africa or in specific runs in the North Sea (including ice navigation in Canada. ABC has the ability, knowledge and expertise to fullfill such particular requirements.
Currently managing the construction of 3 x 21,800 specialist tankers, we maintain two site teams with project managers. We are able to offer project management services, on-site supervision , covering all stages of construction, from design to plan approval, construction or conversion to delivery. Having in-house multinational supervisors, able to easily converse and write in English, Russian or French, Portugese, Spanish and most East European languages. We can tailor our services to your requirements.
