BBCS Process News VDSL Enabling high bandwidth IP services
VDSL uses higher frequencies and as a result higher bandwidth might be archived
Service profiles for residential customers of up to 30/3 Mbit/s and
Symmetrical business profiles of up to 10 Mbit/s
Due to the use of higher frequencies with VDSL, overall requirements of the installation is increased as well. Improper installation might cause impact the attainable speed and quality of the transmission.
Simplify installation and improve customer experience by consequently using information provided along the ordering process.
Optimize access speed and transport quality by detecting common installation faults from remote.
Simplify
the fulfillment and assurance for your VDSL services

Service Assurance Information available in WSG. xDSL Info, Inhouse Copper Analysis
(ICA) und NASMS
What could be improved?
Stability and quality of VDSL access
5% of the copper accesses could benefit from better stability and quality with improved in-house cabling.
Improve access speed
1 out of 4 VDSL accesses might end up with a higher access speed, if in-
house cabling is improved.
Why should you use those tools
Additional information on access online available
NASMS enables instant corrections and changes on the access profile
Effectively support for your assurance chain
Swisscom is providing the measured values and summarized access-line information in order to improve the trouble-shooting process of BBCS access-
lines.

The BBCS assurance trouble ticket transmission with error category 550 (home installation quality) does not work properly.
If you want to open a BBCS trouble ticket with the error category 550 (Home Installation Quality), please choose the error category 544 (performance problems) and note "ICA" in the comment field.
Trouble tickets which have been opened with this attributes will be handled like a trouble ticket with error category 550 (home installation quality).

BBCS Process News NSN Lookup Service
Introduction
If a customer uses a Service which is not related to a TDM Voice
Service from Swisscom and he wants to change his PTS it can be quite difficult to get the necessary information to do it
Example
Endcustomer has a BBCS Naked connection and wants to change his provider. For a qualification the NSN is needed but the endcustomer only knows
his VoIP number
Telephone (VoIP) number is still the mainly used number
NSN is normally not communicated towards the endcustomer
Possibilities
New Provider asks the actual PTS
New Provider uses NSN lookup Service of Service Desk Wholesale

SDSL Phase Out Migration update
General information
Since the beginning of this year approximately 1/5 of the installed SDSL base has been migrated
Approach
Migrate your SDSL installed base by the end of 2012
Enable easy upselling potential for symmetrical bandwidth up to 10M
Reduce your costs up to CHF 200.-
per month & customer
Contact your Account Manager with any question regarding your SDSL migration.
BBCS-FUp to 100Mbps
VDSLUp to 10Mbps
SDSL-> 1.2Mbps or 1.8Mbps
SDSL Migration Process improvement
Most of the current SDSL connections are used by small and medium enterprises. For these customers it is crucial that
they will have a short downtime of there communication equipment
they know exactly when the migration takes place
Due to these reasons we modified the migration process from BBCS
SDSL to BBCS VDSL so that the start and the end of the fulfilment time slot can be seen in advance
For more detailed information please refer to the “SDSL to VDSL Migration Guide”
available on the Closed User Group.

Access strategy Optimised access strategy -
Advantages for ISP
With FTTS ultra-fast
Internet
will be provided faster to the customers
–
also outside big urban areas
Provider of telecommunication services will benefit from attractive wholesale offers based on the new access technology. There is no need for ISP to invest in new fibre access infrastructure
The existing BBCS portfolio will be complemented with very high broadband profiles. In future FTTS will be able to provide bandwidth up to
more than 400Mbit/s
As soon as the concrete planning for the expansion of FTTS is available, we will provide you with more information.
All ISP und their customers will benefit fully from the advantages of the new Swisscom access technology

Vectoring Vectoring for higher Bandwidth on VDSL2. Vectoring is part of the
announced Swisscom access strategy
Your benefit
With vectoring you will get more bandwidth on copper based services
Up to 70-80Mbps (depending on distance)
simultaneous HD TV streams
Technical specifications
Vectoring@PUS Level: vectoring group contains 196 lines
Vectoring compatible CPE is mandatory. VDSL CPE must support Vectoring capable (at least friendly) mode (ITU G.993.5)

Broadcom 6368 based CPE –
Ikanos Vx185 based CPE–
Ikanos Vx180 based CPE
Vectoring uses active noise cancellation and eliminates far end cross talk

IPv6 IPv6 Rapid Deployment on IPv4 Infrastructures
Swisscom has started to enable IPv6 for residential customers.
Technology used: RFC5969, 6rd (IPv6 rapid deployment on IPv4 infrastructures).
Stateless and highly performant (Also on Linux. We use ASR1k, CRS)
Redundancy easy to accomplish (active/active or active/standby, steered by IGP)
Working with private IPv4 addresses, too
Perfectly suited for wholesale customers with DHCP-based accesses
Current peak IPv6 traffic per customer ~ 14 kb/s, so about 10% of total traffic per customer
www.swisscom.com available as dual-stack IPv6/IPv4. (v6 only: www6.swisscom.com)
