Sathish Nammi PhD from Anglia Ruskin University collaborated with Glazing Vision developing a methodology for accurately calculating thermal performance in rooflights.
Flushglaze®The Flushglaze® is a minimalist fixed rooflight with 'frameless' internal views designed to allow as much natural daylight into a room as possible.
It can be supplied in many different shapes and sizes and is also available as a modular unit joining sections of glazing together with simple silicone joints, aluminium back to back angles or glass fins.
Eaves units (above) can also be manufactured combining glazing in both vertical and horizontal planes.
The Flushglaze® can be tailored for many applications and glass specifications include triple glazed, fire rated, solar control, acoustic glass and even switchable privacy glass.
If you want to set the unit into a terrace and walk on it, the rooflight can be supplied with walk on specification glass including an anti slip frit screen print to reduce skid risk.
Other finishes can be specified such as Ritec Clearshield coating designed to reduce dirt build up on the surface of the glass.

rooflightsA contemporary interpretation of the traditional roof lantern, the Glazing Vision pyramid rooflight is available in three standard configurations.
Square Pyramid
Manufactured at a standard 45° pitch (above) includes an apex cap which features an integral downlighter transforming your rooflight into a stunning architectural lighting feature at night.
Elongated Pyramid
The most similar to a traditional lantern boasting glass to glass joints along the hipped ends and ridge line minimising framework, maximising daylight (right). Both this and the square configuration are also available as manually hinged versions for ventilation.
Octagonal Pyramid
We also manufacture an octagonal pyramid which features both the apex cap with downlighter and frameless glass to glass joints linking the eight faces together.

VisionVent®
Developed for ventilation and maintenance access the VisionVent® rooflight is designed to compliment the rest of our range with minimal clean lines, dual colour finish and frameless internal views. There are three basic options to choose from:
Manually Hinged
For ventilation only, operates using traditional screw jack and pole mechanism.
Electrically Hinged
Concealed dual synced motors and worm drive open the unit at the touch of a button. Supporting hinges add stability which allows this version to be constructed in larger sizes for ventilation only.
Electrically Hinged Access
Same basic configuration as the electrically hinged with the addition of built in concealed gas struts which allow the unit to be disconnected from the open vent position and then manually opened for occasional maintenance access to the roof.

sliding rooflightsSliding rooflights add something indefinably special to a room, especially when you can open up almost the entire ceiling space to the outdoors delivering a constantly changing environment within your building at the touch of a button. Glazing Vision offer three standard options:
Skyglide
A self supporting trackless rooflight which utilises telescopic supports allowing the glazing to cantilever on the base frame. This gives you an almost 100% clear opening and can be manufactured in sizes up to 3m².
Sliding Over Roof
For larger areas the sliding glazed section has to be supported by tracks on the roof itself, these form part of the framework and allow more scope in the size and specification whilst maintaining the 100% clear opening (right).
Sliding Over Fixed
If space on the roof is tight the Glazing Vision sliding over fixed option should be considered. This rooflight is usually split into two sections, with one sliding pane of glass moving over a fixed section.This configuration allows the maximum amount of light to be transmitted whilst opening up 50% of the overall footprint for ventilation.

hinged access Converting flat roof areas into usable outside space is becoming extremely popular as it increases the value of your home particularly if there is no additional garden space available.
Glazing Vision offer two hinged rooflights which are ideal for this task and will suit most budgets.
Skydoor
Electrically operated hinged unit (right) designed for regular access to the roof terrace with one touch operation. Includes state of the art built in proximity detectors.
Access Hatch
If you just need to access the roof for maintenance purposes, our manually operated hatch (above) is the perfect solution, providing basic access for when the gutters need cleaning out or for general roof repairs.

box accessBox rooflights are the perfect solution if you're looking for easy access to your roof terrace. Operated at the touch of a button, the user simply climbs the stairs whilst the rooflight is retracting into its open position and then walks straight out onto the terrace.
Box rooflights consist of one sliding section of glass moving over a fixed section and are available in two standard configurations.
Three Wall Box
Pictured right; the rooflight is fixed to a structural wall on three sides.
Freestanding Box
A glass box on a roof is the easiest way to describe this configuration. One half of the glass box slides over the other half.
Bespoke options are also available, such as two wall configurations and bi parting versions. Glazing Vision's in house design engineers can work with you on your project to develop something uniquely tailored to suit your needs.
Box rooflights are perfect for terrace access, as featured on Channel 4's George Clarke's Amazing Spaces.

xventTraditional Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems are usually manufactured featuring large industrial looking mechanisms required to open the unit during the event of a fire.
As the primary function is one of safety, little consideration is ever given to aesthetics, but Glazing Vision wanted to change that and prove that it is possible to manufacture a fully certified safety product that remains visually sleek and elegant.
The Glazing Vision xvent (AOV) rooflight has been tested and certified to BS EN 12101-2:2003 and cycled many thousands of times in order to meet European standards.
On installation it is connected to the fire alarm system which when triggered will automatically open the unit to 140° for effective smoke ventilation. The xvent has dual functionality and can also be used day to day as a vent unit opening up to 45°.
Glazing Visions xvent is available in two standard sizes providing a minimum of 1m² clear opening and can even be integrated into the Flushglaze® for larger roof glazing requirements.

We don't import our rooflights from other suppliers so if you need to talk to the person that actually designed the product, it's not a problem. If you want to visit our factory and view the rooflights being manufactured, that's not a problem either.

manufactureEvery Glazing Vision rooflight is manufactured at our 65,000 sq ft facility in Diss, Norfolk.
From initial enquiry to completed rooflight it all happens under one roof and a visit to our site will find us designing, fabricating, machining, testing, bonding, filing, soldering, powder coating, assembling, cleaning, picking, wrapping, packing and dispatching rooflights to locations across the globe.

installationYes, we do that too.
Many of our products are designed to be fitted by tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts, all of the information required to install the products can be downloaded online from the Glazing Vision resource centre.
Some of our more advanced rooflights require detailed set up to ensure optimum performance.
Our experienced project managers will work with your builder or contractor to arrange a suitable time to get the rooflight on site, fitted and commissioned with the minimum of disruption.
Having your rooflight fitted by an approved Glazing Vision installer also means you benefit from an extended guarantee, whatever the product.
