CLEANLINESS TECHNOLOGY – TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR

20TH AND 21TH JUNE 2017 | 28TH AND 29TH NOV. 2017

TECHNICAL CLEANLINESS INSPECTOR

VDA VOLUME 19.1 – TECHNICAL CLEANLINESS IN

THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

In the manufacture of modern vehicles, the technical cleanliness

of components and subassemblies is an important functional

feature of quality. VDA Volume 19.1 »Inspection of Technical

Cleanliness – Particulate Contamination of functionally-relevant

Automotive Components« addresses in detail the methods and

procedures which are implemented to characterize the cleanliness

state of products in the quality chain of the Automotive Industry.

VDA Volume 19 was first published by VDA QMC in 2005. It has

been completely revised and extended and is available since 2015

as a revised edition. In collaboration with VDA QMC, Fraunhofer

IPA is offering a seminar that is unique to the industry, enabling

people to become a technical cleanliness inspector.

We warmly invite you to attend the seminar and are looking

forward to hearing from you soon.

Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Markus Weskamp

OBJECTIVES OF THE QUALIFICATION

Participants are given the opportunity to arrange cleanliness

analyses according to VDA 19.1 on their own. They are also in a

position to conduct the analyses using state-of-the-art equip-

ment and to document the results. Background information is

also given on the necessity of cleanliness inspections and on

cleanliness-suitable conduct.

TARGET GROUP

People who are confronted with the quality feature of technical

cleanliness in their sphere of work

AT A GLANCE

THEORY DAY

• Background information on technical cleanliness in the

automotive industry

• Extraction methods for detaching particles from components

as well as analysis methods for assessing particulate

contamination

• Qualification of the cleanliness inspection via declining tests

and blank value tests

• Documentation, cleanliness specification and examples of

inspections

Qualification Certificate

On completion of the theory day, you will be presented with a

certificate of participation.

AT A GLANCE – KEY ISSUES

INSPECTION DAY

• A case study which is dealt with independently by the partici-

pants, including the topics of extraction, filtration and analysis

as well as the documentation of cleanliness limiting values and

analysis results

• Presentation and discussion of case studies in the group

• Practical exercises in the cleanliness laboratory at several

workplaces for extraction, filtration and analysis

Test

Written test (multiple choice) of 30 questions

Qualification Certificate

After attending the two-day seminar, successfully completing the

practical exercises and passing the test, you will be awarded a

certificate by VDA QMC and the Fraunhofer Institute as well as a

permit declaring you to be a »Technical Cleanliness Inspector«.
