1. THE OBJECT OF THE TECHNICAL APPROVAL

The object of the present Technical Approval ITB are roof ventilating accessories from
artificial materials: ventilating chimnies, gravitational ventilators, surface ventilators, roof passages ,
chimney tops and chimney caps and roof basics produced by the company WIR-PLAST Rafał
Więcek, Babienica, 47A 1 Maja street, Lubsza 42-287, Poland.
These products serve to ventilate roof surfaces, ventilations of sanitary systems or
to carry through the roof elements of ventilation objects. These are single elements (table1) or
sets ( table 2), which one builds in covering roofs from rolled up materials, roofing paper
shingles, flat metal sheets, wavy, trapezoidal or roof tiles.
Shape and measurements of products presented in drawings . 1 ÷ 43.
Accessories are made from unplasticized poli ( chloride of the vinyl) (PVC-U) and
polypropylene (PP) in colours:
• grey,
• brown,
• graphite,
• red,
• brick colour,
• green,
• black.
Roof chimnies are made in the version:
• standard with a single wall,
• warmed with a double sided warmed polystyrene shaped piece.
Accessories intended are for the gravitational ventilation.

2. DESTINATION, RANGE AND CONDITIONS OF USAGE

Ventilating chimnies, vent holes and ventilators are used to carry through
and carry out ventilation ducts above the roof, to deaerate sewage plumb drainage lines
and deaerate rooms in the attic.
Side ventilating chimnies serve to initiate the process of ventilating installations through
the wall of the building. It is used everywhere, where there is no possibility of removing the
installation vertically above the roof.
Ventilating chimnies for roofing paper are used to release the cumulation of water vapour
assembling above the water protected isolation or the thermal covered roof – the ventilation of
roofing paper, shingles.
Ventilating chimnies, vent holes and ventilators protect the ventilation ducts from the
insufflation of external air from getting damp – making it impossible to penetrate to the drain of
storm sewage.
Roof bases serve to monitor the chimnies or the ventilators:
straight on flat roofs covered with materials rolled up or with shingles,
- on slanted roofs with the inclination to 45o, covered with rolled up materials or in
shingles, sheets or wavy material trapezoidal or with roof tiles.
The type of chimnies, vent holes and ventilators and also their quantity and distribution on
the roof surface must arise out of the technical roof project taking into account the surface area
on the roof, the slope angle and the type.
The quantity , annexation diameters and the assortment of all the ventilating elements
should result from the project of the roof, decisions of norms PN-B-01707:1992,
PN-B-03430:1983, PN-B-03434:1999, PN-B-10425:1989 as well as the contracted settlements
in the decree of the Minister of the Infrastructure 12.04.2002. in the matter of technical conditions
which should correspond and their location ( Law gazette. No. 75/2002, pos. 690,
Section IV § 125, § 140 i § 147).
Chimnies, vent holes and surface ventilators should be built in into the surface of the
roof in kind and the quantities in accordance with the project and the technical documents
of the building in the allocated places. The colour of the chimnies, vent holes

and surface ventilators should be chosen in accordance to the colour of the roof covering and
colour of the object.
The chimnies must have a well chosen and well fitted diameter which will not cause a
reduction in the diameter of the ventilation duct.
3. TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTIC REQUIREMENTS
3.1. Materials
For the production of roof accessories the following materials should be used:
• polypropylene PP for the formation of gushing in compliance with PN-EN ISO 1873-1:2000,
• unplasticized polyvinyl chloride PVC-U for the formation of gushing and imprint in
accordance with PN-EN ISO 1163-1:2000,
• UV stabilizer,
• dyes for artificial materials,
• Butle rubber seals black for usage in the temperature range from -40 0 C
to +90 0 C,
• aluminium sheets with the thickness of 1 mm type EN AW 1050A wg PN-EN 573-3:2009,
• rubber with the hardness 59 ShA or EPDM hardness 55 ShA,
• pipes from PVC-U according to PN-EN 1329-1:2001,
• pipes from PP according to PN-EN 1451-1:2001,
• polystyrene EPS 70-040 according to PN-EN 13163:2009,
3.2. Products
3.2.1. The surface. Chimnies, vent holes and surface ventilators as well as other
accessories should have a smooth surface without blisters, cracks,
burns and openings.
It is acceptable for the occurrence of mechanical outlines, little fish eyes and traces of
mechanical tooling. The accessories should have an equal colour all over.

3.2.2. Shape and measurement. The shape and measurement of the products should be in
accordance with drawings 1 to 43.
3.2.3. Softening temperature according to Vicata. Softening temperature according to
Vicata at the pressure of 50 N not less than 75 0C.
3.2.4. Thermal stability. Chimnies, vent holes and surface ventilators
and the basis for processed temperatures of 1500C for 15 or 30 min should not show blisters,
signs of splits on the material, damages of welding and surface shapes in places of the injection,
penetrating deeper than 50% of the thickness of the side walls. Shaped pieces up to 3 mm in
thickness should be warmed up for 15 min, and the shaped pieces of thickness of more than 3
mm for 30 min.
3.2.5. Impact resistance. The definite impact of resistance with the Charpy method on
samples with the double notch should not be less than 5 kJ/m2.
4. PACKING, STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Chimnies, vent holes and surface ventilators and the basis enfolded in the Technical
Approval should be provided in their original wrappings of the manufacturer and
Stored as well as transported in accordance with the instructions of the manufacturer in such a
way that it ensures no changes in their technical characteristics.
On the package there should be information allocated implicating at least the following
information:
name and adress of the Manufacturer,
identification of the product containing the name and destination of the product,
number of Technical Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009,
number and date displayed on the national decleration agreement,
building sign.
The way of marking the article with the builder's sign should be in accordance
with the order of the Minister of the Infrastructure 11 August 2004, in the matter of ways declaring
accordance of the building products as well as ways of marking their building sign ( Law gazette.
No. 198/2004, pos. 2041).

In accordance with art. 4, art. 5 paragraph. 1 point. 3 and art. 8 paragraph 1 according to
the law 16 April 2004.
about the building products (Law gazette. No 92/2004, pos. 881) products which refer to the
present Technical Approval which can be introduced to the turn over and used in the realization
of the building work in the range of appropriate properties and destinations, if the manufacturer
did the compatibility grade, gave a national declaration agreement of the Technical Approval
ITB AT-15-7905/2009 and marked the products with the builder’s sign in accordance with the
present regulations.
In compliance with the decree of the Minister of Infrastructure on 11 August 2004.
Concerning the ways of declaring the concordance of building products and the manner of
marking them with the builder’s sign (Law gazette. No. 198/2004, pos. 2041), compatibility
grade of products Technical Approval iTB AT-15-7905/2009 the Producer makes in accordance
with system 4.
In the case of system 4 of the compatibility grade , the producer can give a national
declaration agreement of the Technical Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009 on the basis:
1 the reconnaissance of the passed research by the Producer or if ordered by them,
2 the institutional production control .
5.2. The reconnaissance of the type
The reconnaissance of the type is research which confirms the required properties
technically useful, produced before the introduction of the product to the turnover.
The reconnaissance of the type includes:
• softening temperature according to Vicata,
• thermal stability,
• impact resistance according to Charpy.
Research which in the approbation procedure were the bases in determining the
technically useful features of the product, determine the reconnaissance of the type in compatibility
grade.

5.3. The institutional production control
The institutional production control includes:
1. the specification and checking of raw materials and components,
2. the inspection and research in the process of production and researching ready made
products (p. 5.4), lead by the producer in compliance with the agreed research plan and
according to the rules and definite procedures in the documents of the institutional
production control, adapted to the technology production and in pursuit of obtaining products
with the required proprieties.
The production control should assure that the product is in accordance with the Technical
Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009. The results of the production control should be systematically
registered.
Recordings of the register should confirm that the product fulfills the criteria of the
compatibility grade
Every batch of products should be univocally identified in the research register and
commercial documents.
5.4. Research of ready made products
5.4.1. Research programme. Research programme includes:
• current research,
• periodic research.
5.4.2. Current research. Current research include inspecting:
• surface appearance,
• shape and measurements.
5.4.3. Periodic research. Periodic research include inspecting:
• softening temperature according to Vicata,
• thermal stability,
• impact resistance according to Charpy.
5.5. Frequency of research
Current research should be done in compliance with the agreed research plan, but not less
freqently than for every batch of products. The size of the batch of products should be specified
in the documents of the institutional production control.
Routine tests should be done not less frequently than once every 3 years.

5.6.1. Inspecting the surface appearance. Inspecting the surface appearance of the products
should be done in compliance with PN-EN 13018:2004 through visual inspection
unarmed in the natural light (daily) or diffused artificial light from a distance (0,3 ÷ 0,5) m, at an
angle of the evaluated colour and the occurrence of damages.
5.6.2. Inspecting the shape and measurements. The inspection of the shapes consists of
inspecting the products in accordance with the requirements of the norm PN-EN 13018:2004
and comparing them with the drawings in the approval.
Inspecting the measurements should be done in compliance with PN-EN ISO 3126:2006.
5.6.3. Inspecting the softening temperature according to Vicata. Determining the softening
temperature according to Vicata (VST) should be done in compliance with the agreed norms
PN-EN 727:1998.
5.6.4. Inspecting the thermal stability. The research should be carried out in accordance
with the agreed norms PN-EN ISO 580:2006 method A.
5.6.5. Inspecting the impact resistance Charpy method. The research should be carried out
in accordance with the agreed norms PN-EN ISO 179-1:2004.
5.7. Sampling the samples for research
Sampling the samples for research should be done in accordance with norm PN-N-
03010:1983.
5.8. Rating the research results
The produced product should be accordant with the requirements of the current Technical
approval ITB, if all of the research results are positive.

6. FORMALLY LEGAL SETTLEMENT

6.1. Technical Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009 replaces the Technical Approval
COBR PEWB ”Metalplast” AT-06-0634/2003 II Edition.
6.2. Technical Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009 is a document declaring the usefulness of
roof ventilating accessories of WIR-PLAST to use in building in the consequential range from
decisions of the Approval.
According to article. 4, art. 5 paragraph. 1 pt. 3 and art. 8 par. 1 Act on 16 April 2004.
about building products (Law gazette. No 92/2004, pos. 881), products which apply to the
current Technical Approval can be introduced to the turn over and used at building operations in
the range of appropriately used features and destination, if the producer did the compatibility
grade and gave a national declaration in accordance to the Technical Approval ITB AT-15-
7905/2009 and marked the products with the building sign in accordance with the current
regulations.
6.3. Technical Approval ITB does not violate the regulations that are consequent about the
protection of industrial property, particularly the announcement of the President of the Parlament
in the Republic of Poland on 13 June 2003 in the matter of announcing an equal text law on 30
June 2000. The law of industrial property (Law gazette. No 119, pos. 1117
+ changes – Law gazette. No. 33/2004, pos. 286). The assurance of these authorizations
belong to the duty of using the current Technical Approval ITB.
6.4. ITB publishing the Technical Approval do not take the responsibility of possible
violation of the law sole and acquired.
6.5. Technical Approval ITB does not dismiss the Producer of products the responsibility of
the correct quality, and the executive authority of the building works from the responsibility of
their proper usage.
6.6. In the content of handed out leaflets and advertisements or other documents
connected with the introduction of the trade and the usage in the building of roof ventilating
accessories WIR- PLAST one ought to give information of products about the Technical Approval
ITB AT-15-7905/2009.

7. EXPIRATION DATE
11/45
Technical Approval ITB AT-15-7905/2009 is valid until 22 May 2014.
The validity of the Technical Approval ITB can be extended for the following terms if its petitioner
or legal successor goes in this case to the Institute of the Structural Engineering with the correct
application not later than 3 months before the expiration date of this document.
