Video Content Analysis
The DigiEye VCA options are Video Analysis modules for Business and Security Intelligence that:
allow to respond in a targeted manner to specific needs for security and statistics
do not require any additional hardware besides DigiEye => the users only need to update the software and add the license that activates the
VCA functionalities on one or more video inputs!
can be activated on both analog and IP DigiEye video inputs

The video analysis features that will be available on Software DigiEye 6.1 (Dec-2015) and DigiEye VCA Business Intelligence license are:
PEOPLE COUNTING
HEATMAP (MAPS OF PRESENCE)
The People Counting and Heatmap features can be activated simultaneously for one or more analog or IP cameras.
A DigiEye VCA Business Intelligence license allows to activate on a DigiEye n* number of video analysis channels, and to apply the activated video analysis channels to any camera connected to that DigiEye.
* The maximum number of video analysis channels that can be activated depends on the DigiEye model and the DigiEye configuration/user mode.

DigiEye VCA PEOPLE COUNTING
The People Counting function allows to count of the number of persons passing through one or more virtual sensors. These virtual sensors are defined on a camera image and are sensitive to transits in a given direction.
Within the same scene, there can be multiple virtual sensors allowing to control multiple gates or areas using a single camera.
DigiEye VCA PEOPLE COUNTING
The counting data are stored on the DigiEye. They willremain available for consultation and statistics. Periodicreports can be automatically generated and sent via email ornetwork server (FTP, SMB, ...).
It is recommended to install the camera considering the zenithal angle settings, that is to say considering the perpendicularity to the area on which the counting will be performed, from a minimum height of 3 meters.
This kind of positioning guarantees the best results in terms of counting accuracy.
Up to 4 unidirectional counting sensors or 2 bidirectional counting sensors per camera
Counting of more people passing simultaneously in the area monitored by the sensor
Applicable to both analog and IP cameras connected to DigiEye
Each sensor is associated to a counter of which value is stored in DigiEye
The counting data can be stored with different levels of detail depending on the needs: real-
time (for short periods of observation), 1min, 10min, 1h (for long periods of observation)
The counting data are stored in a circular mode, overwriting the oldest data
The same counter can be associated to different sensors that, at each passing, increment or
decrement the value of counted people: it is, therefore, possible to get the number of
presences within a monitored area
Checking of the counting status via local interface
Audio feedback on the counting to facilitate the settings during the installation
Counting data accessible via web services
Counting data easily exportable in Excel via web links
Sending of periodic counting reports via email
The counting function can be inserted in the scheduler to be activated only on certain days /
times for each camera

The information on the number of people passing through the entrance allows
to provide statistics on visitors (i.e. the number of people currently present in a
certain area, the approximate time of people permanence in a particular place,
etc.). This kind of data is particularly useful when combined with information on
sales: they, indeed, provide details on the types of customers / visitors during
different times of the day or different days of the week.
This kind of data allows to create personalized offers, to optimize the allocation of staff resources, to reduce the operating costs (such as air
conditioning) and to improve the services (reduction or elimination of
queues, more employees at certain times to better inform and promote, etc.).

DigiEye VCA HEATMAP
DigiEye VCA Heatmap, primarily designed for surveillance in vertical applications such as retail and public places, allows to produce statistic maps on the occupation of areas that have been configured by the users.
The statistics are available on the image of the scene: the “occupied areas” are highlighted with different maps in pseudo colors providing some immediate and clear indications on which are the "hottest" (i.e. the most popular) areas within the scene shown by the camera.
DigiEye HEATMAP
The data are commonly represented in a graphical form: the scene image is
superimposed by a variety of colors ranging from blue to red, where blue is used to
show the less visited areas and red to represent the most frequented ones.
This information is useful and helps in determining the users’ behaviors: for
example, it is possible to understand the effectiveness of some promotion
campaigns, or to decide when and where some promotional operations / product
launches have more chance to be successful.
DigiEye VCA HEATMAP, therefore, is a
video analysis function that measures the
number of people who remain stationed
over an average time in different areas of a
retail, venue or public place.
Can be activated to analog or IP cameras connected to DigiEye
Can be activated on each camera connected to DigiEye
Real-time viewing of each heatmap settings during the camera configuration
DigiEye stores the heatmap statistics along with the normal video recordings (bitrate
~30 Kbps)
Users can produce heatmap images related to any period of interest, not less than 1
minute
Heatmap images are available via web services and can be easily integrated into other
applications
Sending of periodic reports of heatmap images via email
The function can be inserted in the scheduler to be activated only on certain days /
times for each camera

DigiEye VCA forSECURITY INTELLIGENCE
The video analysis features that will be available on DigiEye Software 6.2 (Q2-2016) and DigiEyeVCA Security Intelligence are:
THRESHOLD CROSSING
STERILE AREA
LOITERING
ABANDONED / REMOVED OBJECT
The features can be activated simultaneously for one or more analog or IP cameras.
A DigiEye VCA Security Intelligence lincense allows to activate on a DigiEye n* number of video analysis channels, and to apply the activated video analysis channels to any camera connected to that DigiEye.
•The maximum number of video analysis channels that can be activated depends on the DigiEye model and the DigiEye configuration/user mode.
DigiEye VCA for Security Intelligence
DigiEye VCA for Security Intelligence functions canbe activated on any analog or IP cameraconnected to a DigiEye
They can be activated for each connected cameraaccording to the scheduler
Video analysis algorithms activated on theconnected cameras can generate alarms, which can
alert the surveillance center and activate relay outputs
DigiEye VCA for Security Intelligence
This function allows to define on the image one or more straight virtual
sensors: these are defined as "Trip-wire / Line-crossing“.
Whenever an object (person or vehicle) crosses the defined line, an alarm is
generated and alerts the video surveillance operator.
DigiEye VCA TRIP-WIRE / LINE CROSSING
The Intrusion Detection / Perimeter Protection / Sterile Zone function allows
to define on the image a polygonal virtual sensor.
Whenever an object (person or vehicle) enters the defined area, an alarm is
generated and alerts the video surveillance operator.
DigiEye VCA STERILE ZONE
This feature allows to generate an
alarm and alert the operator when a
person remains stationed in an area
of interest for a certain amount of
time.
DigiEye VCA LOITERING
This feature allows to generate an alarm and alert the operator in real time
when an object is abandoned or removed from a scene of interest.
