#1. Lithium Batteries are Lithium Batteries are Lithium…..
Several Different Chemistries – Each Offering a Trade-OffLithium Cobalt Oxide(LiCoO2) — LCOLithium Manganese Oxide (LiMn2O4) — LMOLithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2) — NMCLithium Nickel Cobalt Aluminum Oxide (LiNiCoAlO2) — NCALithium Titanate (Li2TiO3) — LTO
Lithium Iron Phosphate(LiFePO4) — LFP

#2. Electric Vehicles are Best Suited to Short Range Applications

Electrify MILES not vehiclesMore miles = more CO2, NOx, SOx, PM eliminatedPer mile saving approximately £0.30 / mile

#3. An Extended Range Electric Vehicle is a Hybrid – Isn’t it?
It’s an Electric Vehicle
…with added functionality

If you remove the range extender
It operates in exactly the same way
…just less flexibly

Key:Final Mile depletion radius (10km)
PREM Pre-charge zone
PREMS Electric only zero emission zone
Vehicle running Zero Emission Mode
Vehicle running Range Extension Mode
Battery State of Charge (SOC) (%)
#4. What are Geo-Fences?
PREMS Is integral to the Tevva drivetrain
Page 6
1 Vehicle leaves depot fully charged after overnight charge
2 Vehicle initially travels with zero emissions
3 PREMS requests vehicle to run the Range Extender (ReX)
4 Vehicle enters zero emission zone and turns the ReX off
(having maintained SOC)
5 Vehicle completes all deliveries in zero emissions mode
6 Vehicle exits zone but is still above minimum SOC and continues to operate in zero emission mode
7 Vehicle enters PREMS pre-charge allowed zone but vehicle does not need to charge
8 Vehicle reaches 25% SOC and starts the ReX
9 Vehicle enters final mile depletion zones and begins to reduce minimum SOC from 25% to 10% and turns the ReX off
10 Vehicle returns to base with 10% SOC

#5. Are All Electric Drive Motors Basically the Same?

High Density Switched Reluctance
No rare earth metalsSimpler end-of-life recyclingEasier coolingLower cost

#6. Well to Wheel

UK Grid getting lower carbon every yearRenewables now (2018) account for 33%Low carbon (inc. nuclear) over 50% in 2018UK 2019 Grid Emitted 255g CO2/kwhBEIS forecasts 41g CO2/kWh by 203514.7 l/100km (16mpg) = 385g CO2/km7.5T EV = 95-143g CO2/km (2019 Grid)
15-23g CO2/km (2035 estimate)

#7. What Exactly, is “Regen” – is it Important?
Page 9
Vehicle momentum putting energy back into the battery
Motorway driving – typically less than 5% of energy consumedUrban stop-start – potentially greater than 25% of energy consumed
VERY significant effect on overall consumption and therefore effective rangeDriver training and incentivization is key

#8. EVs Are Still Too Expensive to be a Mass Deployment Option
Total operating costs in the UK for an ‘average’ 7.5T Box bodied truck with a tail-lift7 years full Repair & Maintenance lease‘average’ duty cycle (250,000 kms over 7 yrs)Typical maintenance Inspection regime
Diesel Lease Cost (indicative)
£1350 + £720 fuelTotal £2070
Rex EV Lease Cost (indicative)
£1800 + £180 fuelTotal £1980Saving:
£90 per month
Fuel & Maintenance Savings Outweigh Capex Uplift. Leasing Gives Savings from Month 1

#9. EV Technology is Evolving Fast – So Isn’t it Wise to Wait a While?
Engineering Cost Out – Not Engineering Capability In
Range and operational capability already good enoughBattery longevity already measured on thousands of cyclesScale will drive down costs furtherCost reductions will make loss of subsidies and incentives unimportant
No

#10. How Can I be Sure that the Latest EV Technology is 100% as Safe as Existing Diesel Technology?

Step 1We take a commercial vehicle
Step 2Apply ultra-thin solar matting to the vehicle roof. Connect the matting to a charge controller which interfaces with the vehicle battery and alternator.
Step 3and fuel spend are reduced.
