OPPORTUNITIES

Demand for shea butter produced in West Africa has increased by 1200% over the last 10 years and is still climbing.

The global expected market values for the chocolate industry by 2019 is $131.7 billion, cosmetics industry by 2020 is $390.07 billion and pharmaceutical industry by 2020 is $1.6 trillion.

MARKET ANALYSIS

The shea industry is experiencing a growing demand for shea butter,

mostly due to an increase in global demand for vegetable oils and fats.

Shea butter is used as a substitute for cocoa butter in the confectionery

industry. This is also known as Cocoa Butter equivalents (CBEs).

.Around 90-95% of exported shea is used in the production of CBEs.

In the global market there is a strong shea demand for chocolate

confectionery products . Chocolate sales is growing at about 3-4% per

annum and annual growth in demand for CBEs is about 10%.

SHEA TREE

It is a unique tree that grows only in West Africa and Central Africa.

Shea tree may be found in 19 contiguous countries across Africa forming what may be considered as shea belt, spanning some 3.000 miles from Senegal to Ethiopia.

SHEA NUTS Shea nuts are tree nuts that are used to produce

shea butter or shea oil.

Over 1.7 million tonnes of shea nuts are harvested annually from an estimated 500 million productive trees.

Shea nuts are expected to yield massively in the future since there is an increasing cultivation of shea trees by the people in West Africa.

PRODUCTION OF SHEA BUTTER

IGO will concentrate the shea butter manufacturing in the centre of the shea areas of West Africa.

There are more demands than supplies for a high grade quality of shea butter.

We will produce high grade of quality shea butter with technical equipments specially designed for the production of shea butter and we will continue to adapt our equipments for the needs of the market.

There will be production capacity of 18.000 m/t shea butter per year for the start and expand it in the coming years to 50,000 m/t per year.

We envision to have sold the shea butter before we start the production.

SALES STRATEGY

The shea butter will be exported to Europe, North and South America and Asia.

IGO has contact with companies in the chocolate industry, cosmetic industry and pharmaceutical industry, especially those interested in buying our shea butter if we meet their requirements. IGO will produce quality shea butter to meet it‘s customers requirements.

IGO has a license for free zone which makes it possible to import the shea nuts on tax free and export tax free on the shea butter.

The machineries will also be imported tax free for the production of the shea butter and a lot of other benefits.

4/7

IGO has a network of shea collectors from nine countries inWest Africa. This includes women residing around the surroundings of the shea area. We set up a co-operative for these women who collect shea nuts for IGO. The cooperative collect shea nuts only for IGO every year.

WHY A SHEA BUTTER PLANT IN WEST AFRICA, TOGO? IGO wants to produce the shea butter in the shea areas in West

Africa in order to minimize the cost of transporting the shea nuts to Europe, North and South America and Asia.

This is because, to produce 1 kilogram of shea butter, you need 2.2 kilograms of shea nuts.
