Attaching additional mice and keyboards to your computer

Our software is designed to make use of additional hardwaredevices like mice and keyboards. Laptops already have akeyboard and a mouse trackpad built in. If you have got one ormore extra mice and keyboards (who hasn't got an extra mouselying around these days) you can simply plug these into the USBport of your computer. Windows will install the necessarysoftware to make use of the extra devices. You cannot, however, make use of them independently. This is whereDicoLab software comes to the rescue. Our software allows youto make use of the extra devices independently of each other.Just startup the programs and any extra USB input device that isattached will be recognized automatically.

If you have more devices than USB ports on your computer you can use a USB hub to create extra USB ports.A USB hub is a device that expands a single USB port into several so that there are more ports available toconnect devices to a host system.

How to install and run the multi user tool:

Download and install TeamPlayer4 PRO1.Attach more mice / keyboards to your PC (maybe you need an additionalUSB hub). Any USB, PS2 or Bluetooth mice and keyboards will do,touchscreen input is possible.

    2.

Start TeamPlayer4 PRO; via the STARTmenu or desktop icon. Some session3.

parameters can be set in the settings interface of the software.Only on the first startup you'll be asked for a serial key.4.

Note: How many connections(users) are allowed to your TeamPlayer4session is determined by the license key you have obtained. Licences areavaible for several numbers of allowed users and allowed deviceconnections.

    Operation

When active, each connected input device will each get a unique cursor on screen which all are active onthe same desktop. Mouse / keyboard pairing

Each mouse will have a keyboard paired to it, so a user will have his/her own input and interactioncontrols on the dekstop. Clicking anywhere with your mouse and typing some keys on your keyboard willpair that mouse with that keyboard. Do the same for any other connected mouse and keyboard. Thispairing will be persistant until a new device is plugged in or a device is removed from the PC. Note: multipleusers can work together in the same application, albeit that non-multi user aware applications will limitconcurrency somewhat. Normal human collaboration is very well possible and effective.

    Cursor labels

During an active session the label for each cursor can be edited. Each linein the editor represents a cursor label. An empty line will result in a cursorwithout a label. To use labels, the option must be selected prior to asession.

To store the labels for future session press Save & Apply. If you only needto change the labels for this session, just press Apply.

The label editor can be started by pressing the label button on the

    start-screen.

    Area Restriction

Version 4.1 and later has the ability to create areas that restrict user to a custom area. This way you can

prevent users from clicking and changing parts of the Operating System.

The share area can be enabled and disable by clicking on the share areabutton in the main screen. The first user to use a mouse after a session isstarted is designated as the 'master user'. That cursor is the only one thatcan move outside, disable and resize the Share Area.

    Step 5

Start TeamConnect. To enter the remote computer, cross the top of your screen. Your regular mouse cursorwill appear on the other computer.

    Troubleshooting

Due to network configuration and firewall setting, incoming network connection are blocked. Please makesure that the Firewall allows connections on port 10244. This should be enabled automatically during theinstallation of the app.

When users connect via the internet instead of a local area network, the access to the hosting computermaybe impossible because of the router: the external IP address of the network may be different than theIP address of the computer. If this is the case port forwarding must be enabled in the router.

As the whole world is not used to see multiple cursors on screen and to interact and collaboratesynchronously together on one screen, the first minutes or so can be confusing. Not all cursors have to dosomething all the time together; normal human collaboration is more about that any user is present and caninteract when needed. No more need to hand over control and all participants see directly what a certainuser is doing or intending. All software and applications in the world are non-multi user aware (except theDicoLab multi user applications). They are by nature not build for multi user interaction. Some functionalityof applications are not concurrently multi user operable; the TeamPlayer4 software will notify this onscreen, to keep a safe and stable system. When stopping the TeamPlayer4 software, all connected deviceswill be disconnected and control will be returned to the personal device. With this software, you can use

any standard Windows application, now with more users! DicoLab can not guarantee flawless multi useroperation everywhere, as possible interference with some existing, third party applications or systems mightoccur. Please test drive in your environment.
