TEAM BUILDING

Team building is a philosophy of job design in which individuals are observed as members of interdependent teams instead of being individuals only. A team is not complete until any engagement or collective activity is given to achieve results. Team building which is correctly spelled with two words refers to a wide range of responsibilities, activities, done in businesses, schools, sports teams, events, religious or nonprofit organizations designed for improving team performance. Team building is pursued through a variety of practices, and can range from simple bonding exercises to complex structures or simulations. It generally sits within the theory and practice of organizational development, but can also be applied to sports teams, school groups, and other contexts.

Team building can also be seen in day-to-day operations of an organization and team dynamics can be improved through successful leadership. Team building is said to have benefits of self-development, positive communication, leadership skills and the ability to work closely together as a team to solve problems or to achieve goals.

Two heads are better than one.POLISH PROVERB

Life is not a game of Solitaire; people depend on one another. When one does well, others are lifted. When one stumbles, others also are impacted. There are no one-man teams—either by definition or natural law. Success is a cooperative effort; it’s dependent upon those who stand beside you.JON M. HUNTSMAN SR
