On behalf of the International Ski Federation (FIS), the Norwegian Ski Association (NSF), the Association of the Promotion of Skiing and the FIS World Cup Organising Committee, we have the pleasure of welcoming you all to the FIS World Cup Nordic Skiing 2013 in Holmenkollen.

Holmenkollen is known to have the most enthusiastic winter sports spectators in the world. We hope to show you once again that this is true. Together with a professional staff of officials and volunteers, we will do our utmost to present equal, safe and fair conditions for the athletes.

GENERAL INFoRmATIoN

Accreditation/Service CentreThe Service Centre will be at Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica.

AccreditationAccreditation for teams and athletes are similar to this season’s World Cup event, using team, service and athlete vests/bibs to gain access to the Cross-Country courses and stadium, and accreditation cards for the Ski Jumping arena.

TransportationThere will be a shuttle bus service between Radisson Blu Park Fornebu and the Venue. The bus schedule will be available in the service desk at the team hotels and in the sub race offices. The team hotels also have a transport service desk with further information about transportation matters.

Parking Parking is limited in the venue, and will be controlled by parking passes that are required to be displayed in each car parked. Parking passes will be distributed according to the size of the teams. The parking limits and driving permissions will be available at the Team Captains Meeting. For Cross Country the FIS parking permits will be valid (an additional parking card will be submitted in Drammen at the Team Captain Meeting).

EntriesThe final entries for each competition must be delivered to the race office/sub race office no later than 2 hours prior to the Team Captains Meeting.

Team Captains meetingsThe meetings will take place at Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica. English will be the official language at the meetings. For the meeting schedule please see the program on page 3 or the specific program for your sport.

Team CabinsThe team cabins for Cross-Country are located in the 4-story Service building and in the containers behind (west side) of the Cross-Country stadium. Wax trucks will be placed near the Ski-test area.Team cabins for Ski Jumping are located behind the Ski Jumping Tower in the Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Hill. The cabins are guarded 24 hours a day. Waxing is only permitted in rooms specified for the purpose.

Team caféThe team café for Cross Country is located in the Service building west of the stadium. The Service building has all facilities such as toilets, internet and showers. The team café facilities in the Holmenkollen Ski Jumping Hill will be in the lift lobby. There will be mineral water, fruit, waffles and a light meal in the team cafés. Lunch will be served at the hotels. Lunch boxes will also be available at request (have to be ordered from the hotel desk the evening before).

Start/Result listsThe lists will be available at the team hotels, the race office, the press centre and on the following websites: www.fis-ski.com and www.holmenkollen-worldcup.no.

Sports ServiceThe Sports Service desk is located at the Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica in the Service Centre on the 2nd floor above the reception. For parking passes, FIS Family tickets and questions concerning training, wax cabins and facilities for the athletes/teams please see our staff in the Sports Service Desk.

Team attaches will be supporting the teams with their arrivals and departures, providing administrative and linguistic support and supporting the teams in other areas if needed. Each Team Captain/ Chief of Delegation will determine the specific responsibilities and duties of their Team Attaché in accordance to the duties mentioned above.

TrainingCross Country: Official training will be according to the program above. For training earlier in the week, skiing on the competition courses will depend on the snow and weather conditions and course preparation & rigging (fencing, TV, banners etc.). However, there are hundreds of kilometres of ski courses adjacent to Holmenkollen, and access will be provided (see Sport Service desk for information upon arrival).

Ski Jumping: Holmenkollbakken will not be open for training Monday-Wednesday (11.-13. March). However, it will be possible to jump in Midtstubakken (HS106) Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:00 – 15:00 if the weather conditions are acceptable (see Sport Service desk for information upon arrival).

Weather prognosesWeather and snow conditions (for Cross-Country) will be reported from the highest and the lowest course elevation and in the start/finish area. Reports will be posted on the information board in the teams’ waxing cabins, the team service area, race offices, the stadium, the hotels and at the press centre. Up to race start the weather information will be updated according to regulations. (see also the web site www.yr.no for weather prognoses)

Prize-moneyThe prize-money will be paid electronically and in Euros. Please remind the athletes to bring their account number and IBAN/SWIFT code. All financial matters (prize-money, hotel costs/reimbursements) will be handled in the Finance office adjacent to the Service Centre.

ACCommodATIoN

The official team hotels are Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica and Radisson Blu Park Fornebu. There will be an information desk at each of the team hotels. Representatives from our transportation service will also be available at the hotels. Our volunteers in the service desk and the hotel staff will do their utmost to make your stay and preparations for the competitions best possible. Accommodation Payment / Reimbursement of Expenses Each nation must pay for any extra expenses (extra drinks, snacks from the mini bars etc.) directly to the hotel. For extra single rooms and rooms not included in the quota, the payment should be done by credit card in the Financial Office or through an invoice in agreement with our account manager. Our account manager and her staff will be available in the Financial Office adjacent to the Service Centre from Thursday to Sunday (Opening hours: 08.00-20.00).
