Literacy

As the school year has

progressed, it has seemed that the

students were getting bored with our

Daily Five Routines during Literacy.

We had a class discussion about this

and I have decided to move the

class into a Reader’s Workshop

model. Students will be allowed more

time to read the books of their

choice, while I will be conferring with

individuals. We all are very excited

about this model, and my hope is

that this new approach will increase

their motivation to read even more.

Ask your child to tell you what he/she

is reading at school. What do they

think of Reader’s Workshop?
