ASTRO Systems, Inc. (ASTRO) specializes in turnkey engineering services in the fields
of telecommunications and information technology (ICT), encompassing all facets of
telecommunications engineering including: systems integration, feasibility studies,
engineering analysis, equipment furnishing, installation, testing and acceptance and
customer training.
Additionally, ASTRO provides preventative and corrective maintenance support to the
U.S. Department of State throughout Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Truly
international in organization, technology, staff and customers, ASTRO’s professional
experience comes from serving a large number of
clients worldwide. Since its incorporation in 1986, the
company has served clients in many countries around
the world, representing nearly every type of
telecommunications organization, public and private. In
these endeavors, ASTRO has provided services varying
from the planning and implementation of multimillion
dollar national networks to specific studies and
technical applications. In recent years, our clients have
been departments and agencies of the U.S. Government
including agencies within the Department of State and
Department of Defense.
ASTRO has also provided support to several developing countries’ Ministries including
Jordan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan and at present Brazil. Each
project is managed by a seasoned senior engineer/manager who directs an in-country
team of specialists, organized according to the particular objectives of the contract. This
team usually moves to the country where the services are provided to assure a complete
integration with the client’s personnel.
A basic ASTRO philosophy is to obtain a full understanding of the client’s needs and to
guarantee an adequate transfer of technology. ASTRO operates completely independent
of manufacturers, suppliers, common carriers or any government agency. Its policy of
non-affiliation is carried out in an atmosphere of complete dedication to the needs of the
client.
ASTRO was formed in 1986 to provide engineering and installation services to both
Government and non-government Agencies. We offer a broad spectrum of state-of-the-

Washington D.C., provides management, financial and logistical support for worldwide
operations. In addition, field offices are established, as required, for the administration of

Granger Telecom Corporation – Teaming Partner
Granger Telecom is a successor of Granger that was formed in 1956. Since 1999,
Granger Telecom has been committed to providing the very best microwave services
possible. Granger takes great pride having capabilities to satisfactorily design, engineer,
furnish, install, test a commission complete turnkey microwave systems of all frequencies
and capacity. From 960 MHz to 80 GHz with capacities to 1 GB. Granger is able to
furnish equipment offered by numerous manufacturers. Including, microwave, multiplex,
channel equipment, DC Power Systems, antennas and transmission line and hardware and
associated ancillary equipment. Granger's experience as explained above will be
supportive of any requirements for microwave.
Granger takes great pride in customer satisfaction. We have engineered, furnished and
installed microwave in all 50 States and many foreign countries. Small systems to very
large systems. We secure equipment for a particular project, do rack and stack, integrate
equipment to ensure proper operation. Granger personnel have saved major

ASTRO has been providing engineering services including network design, procurement,
installation and test and acceptance for 36 years and on over 36 contracts. Our staff
includes many experienced engineers and technicians with our chief engineer maintaining
his P.E. certification. ASTRO is also an ISO 9001:2008 certified company.
Granger provides Microwave and System Engineering. Granger personnel have over 100
years of combined microwave design and engineering experience. This has covered
thousands of contracts. We are certified by most equipment manufacturers. Granger
personnel are certified by test equipment suppliers and many trade associations such as
NATE.
Granger has written Policies and Procedures in place. A typical turnkey project starts
with initial design of a system to meet requirements. Site selection and Path engineering,
procuring equipment, FCC license work, equipment integration, field installations,
testing, commissioning and final documentation.
ASTRO follows procedures which includes: 1) engineering: review of requirements;
development of design package; 2) management: project kickoff; 3) engineering: design
implementation, review, verification, and approval followed by project implementation
by the Project Management and Operations personnel

Modeling of telecommunication paths includes the development of path profiles which
incorporates ground levels along the path coupled with atmospheric effects to determine
if there is line-of-sight between the two terminals. In addition, the development of path
reliability calculations to determine the level of availability for the signal.

ASTRO has been providing fabrication support for over 20 years. This includes the
design and fabrication of antenna mounts for both microwave and satellite equipment.

other specific equipment rack, stack and wire accordingly, test and document. ASTRO

ASTRO has written policies and procedures in place to support the documentation of our
contracts. Recently these were updated as part of our ISO 9001:2008 certification
process. These procedures have been applied to all contracts and in accordance with the

with initial design of a system to meet requirements. Site selection and Path engineering,
procuring equipment, FCC license work, equipment integration, field installations,
testing, commissioning and final documentation.
Documentation is developed in accordance with either our internal ISO 9001:2008
process and procedures or in accordance with a Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL).

and logistics services. Procedures are developed at the beginning of each contract and
reports of each site visit are generated and provided to the customer. ASTRO provides
maintenance and logistics support for existing Ku-Band and C-Band TVRO terminals
throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Southwest Asia.

plan for each contract. Then individual design documents are prepared. These drawings
are red-lined in the field to reflect actual installation. The red-lined documents are used to
update the master drawings and then a final copy of the documents is provided to the
customer. ASTRO designed and installed a data network and telephone service for 400
users at ICTC Bureau, Headquarters, Ministry of Defense, Regional HQ at Al Asad,
Baghdad, Basra, Mosul and 18 provincial capitals in Iraq. The network was established to
provide encrypted VPN to provide protection equivalent to US DoD SIPRNET. This was
for the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Network (CTNET). Establish policies and procedures for
