MODIFICATIONS TO DESIGN

1ST SUBSYSTEM

Press Plate Base Plate

Modified press plate and base plate. This design is better for manufacturing. Other parts of the first subsystem have been modified for laser cutting.

2ND SUBSYSTEM

Offset Shaft for Clamp Opener

The offset shafts for the second subsystem resemble the offset shaft used in the first subsystem. The offset shafts utilize the same parts in different configurations. Not pictured is the bearing which will be press fitted into the connecting shaft.

3RD SUBSYSTEM• MATERIALS TO MACHINE THE STAINLESS BARREL, AND TURNED

ALUMINUM FOR SUBSYSTEM 3 HAVE BEEN SELECTED AND SET ASIDE IN THE MACHINE SHOP.

MANUFACTURING•PARTS WILL BE MANUFACTURED USING THE AG DEPARTMENT’S LASER CUTTING MACHINE, THE TOOLS IN THE MACHINE SHOP OF THE ME BUILDING, AND THE 3-D PRINTER. •THE MATERIALS FOR LASER CUTTING MUST BE PROVIDED BY TEAM ALPHA. •FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT IS STILL UNCLEAR. CORRESPONDENCE IS NECESSARY WITH THE APPROPRIATE SPONSOR.
