I have the children all in assignedseats to help with any disruptive problems. I will change the seating arrangement as necessary.
I decided to put my desk in the corner to be out of the way, andyet be able to see what my students are doing. I was also thinking that there would be moreroom in the corner for any cabinetsand anything else I might accumulate throughout the year.
I did not like the idea of computerlabs or for every child to have their own computer; although, I do think that children should have ample access to computers. I think that with only a few computers it will be easier to monitor students’use and the students would have access, albeit limited access, to the computers.

I would love to have a considerable amount of space for books in my classroom. I hope to be able to fill my students with the love for reading that I have. For the students’ independent reading time I was thinking that they could spread out as they wished.
Everyone needs storage space right?Admittedly, this is probably notenough. I was never in a classroomthat had enough storage space!
I would love to be able to have an area dedicated to small groups. This be a space for the students to come together and work on whatever theyneeded to do. The children could beable to get together and be “loud and noisy.”

In my fifth grade classroom, we hadan empty space between theblackboard and the desk space for games and for group discussions.I liked the times that were spent asa class on the floor. I hope that mywill have the same experiences whilethey are in my class. This will be an empty space for the entire class to have time as a class of for group projects. I don’t think that it is very reasonable to expect young children to want to sit still all day!
