TexasTeacher STaR Chart

The Teacher STaR Chart can be located at:www.tea.state.tx.us/starchart

This training module is designed to assist you in completing your Teacher STaR Chart.


Teacher Information

• Passwords are confidential! Sharing your passwords is not recommended

• Your scores on the Teacher Survey are confidential; you can print your survey if you would like to have a copy for your records.

• The STaR Chart survey will assist your district in making plans for future technology plans and staff development.

• If you must log out before you complete the assessment the system will save the answers you have already selected.

• Only the District, Campus, and Help Desk Administrators can see user names.


STaR Chart Home Page


To log in, click the “Login” button and enter your STaR Chart username. You may need to contact your campus principal for this information, as detailed on the campus principal teacher list.


To search for previous years data, click on the “Data Search” button.


To review Frequently Asked Questions click this button.


To view a PDF copy of the Teacher STaR Chart, click “Texas Teacher

STaR Chart”.


Once you have clicked the “Login”button, you will arrive at this screen!


If you have previously created a STaR Chart profile, you will have a password that you created. If this is your first time to enter the STaR Chart system, you will use the word “password” in lower case letters.

For example: The name Katy Did would be input like this.


Katy.did1

The principal or appointed campus administrator will

provide usernames to teachers.

User names follow the protocol of:

firstname.lastname(no spaces with a period

between the first and last name)

Sometimes your username will have a digit(s) after the last name. The STaR Chart is a state wide system which could mean your name is duplicated in another district.

If you do not remember the password you

created previously, you can type your STaR Chart

assigned “username” in

this box and the password will be sent to the e-mail

listed in the profile when this user was created.

Don’t forget to type the period

between your first and last name.

Again, remember that the principal or appointed campus administrator will provide username and profile information to you if you need this assistance.


Question: I am a new teacher with no password or, I have moved to a different campus or district.

How do I log in?1. Obtain your “username” from the campus administrator in charge of the STaR Chart.2. Log in with that username and the temporary password of “password” at the STaR

Enter STaR Chart “username”.

Again, you may notice a digit(s) after your last

name. These are important so

remember this!

ALERT: Once you are logged in, be sure your name and your campus name are listed correctly. If you find the information listed here is incorrect, please check with your campus administrator to assist you in correcting this error.

Once you have completed all of

the blanks and the drop down boxes,

hit the update button to continue.

Since you are a new teacher and this is the first time you have logged in to the STaR Chart system, you will need to change yourpassword to a permanent password that only you will know. This is referred to as your “revised” password.

You will need to open your e-mail and check for a message from [email protected].

Click on the link in the email and it

will take you to the STaR Chart site;

or copy and paste into your internet

browser bar.
