Teacher Advice Topic 5: Our Dental Expo Plan Level: Years 5-6

Purpose The purpose of this topic is to support students to collaborate, plan, promote and activate a dental health expo for a local audience.

Activity To commence have the class watch Video 5.1 - Run an Expo to Educate Others.

This video provides students with information about what they need to consider when planning to run and manage an event such as an Expo.

Once they have watched the video, have the class work together to complete AS 5.1 - Our Dental Health Expo Management Plan. AS 5.1 - Our Dental Health Expo Management Plan. This is an interactive activity that provides students with step-by-step process on how to collaborate, plan, promote and activate an event.

The plan asks the class to allocate student roles, and make decisions on the duration and location of their Expo, the size of their budget, who to invite as guests and volunteers, promotion and marketing, and to what extent they will use media to capture the Expo for viewing and listening after the event is over.
