Nitomortar 903
Solvent free, epoxy binder system
Uses
For combining with selected fillers and aggregates toproduce epoxy mortars of various consistencies. Alsoused as supplied, or with selected filler additions toproduce bolt or starter-bar grouts, and as a priming systemwith some Nitoflor products.
Advantages
■ Early development of initial hardness, minimisesmaintenance disruption
■ Unaffected by a wide range of acids, alkalis andindustrial chemicals
■ Three to Four times stronger than typical concrete.Excellent resistance to abrasion and impact
■ Versatile mixing ratios
Description
Nitomortar 903 is a two-component, low viscosity, epoxyresin system to which Nitomortar Fillers can be added toproduce epoxy mortars having a variety of consistencies.Nitomortar 903 also forms part of the Nitoflor range as apriming system.
Technical support
Parchem offers a comprehensive range of highperformance, high quality concrete repair and constructionproducts. In addition, Parchem offers a technical supportpackage to specifiers, end-users and contractors, as wellas on-site technical assistance.
Design criteria
A variety of consistencies can be obtained whenNitomortar Fillers are used in conjunction with Nitomortar903. Refer to Application instructions for details on mixdesigns.
When a non-slump consistency is required use Lokset E.
Properties
The following results were obtained at a temperature of23°C, unless otherwise specified.
Pot life: 30 minutesThe pot life quoted refers to the resin system without theaddition of fillers. This value will increase as filler is addedto the mixed product, with temperature decreases, or if themixed product is poured into thin layers
Initial hardness: 24 hours
Full cure: 7 daysbelow 20°C the curing timewill be increased

Application instructions
Preparation
All grease, oil, chemical contamination, dust, laitance andloose concrete must be removed by scabbling or light bushhammering to provide a sound substrate.
Steel surfaces should be grit blasted to white metal.Surfaces which show any traces of oil must be degreasedwith a chemical degreaser prior to grit blasting.
Priming
For maximum adhesion of heavily filled mortars, etc., thesurfaces to be treated should be primed by applying a coatof unfilled Nitomortar 903 before placing the mortar.
Mixing
By volume – 2 volumes of resin to 1 volume of hardener
By weight – 100 parts of resin to 45 parts of hardener
Typical mix design by volume:
Fluid paste2 parts resin : 1 part hardener : 6 parts Nitomortar F4 FillersYield: 1 litre of mixed product combined with 2 litres of F4Fillers will yield 2.4 litres of fluid paste.
Stiff paste
2 parts resin : 1 part hardener : 9 parts Nitomortar F4 FillersYield: 1 litre of mixed product combined with 3 litres of F4Fillers will yield 3.2 litres of stiff paste.
Compressive strength: @ 7 days cure @ 23oC = 70MPa
Flexural strength: @ 7 days cure @ 23oC = 30MPa
