Liquid Carboxymethylcellulose Description: NATUFINE™ CMC-L is an oenological fining agent in liquid form, which is used to support the stabilization against crystal precipitations in wine. It can, long lasting, prevent against the precipitation of Potassium hydrogen tartrate, whereas it is important that the wine is absolutely free of protein and a thorough fine filtration has been carried out before the treatment with NATUFINE™ CMC-L. The saturation temperature of the wine is of importance as well and if above 20°C, the stabilizing effect might not be sufficient anymore. Important to note as well, that, if applied on red- or rosé wines, a possible reaction with the colour pigments might lead to a loss of colour and to reduced stabilization-efficiency. CMC does NOT protect against calcium tartrate precipitations! NATUFINE™ CMC-L is manu- factured to comply with current purity specifications of the relevant OIV- technical specifications and its use is foreseen in conformity to EC regulations (EC 606/2009). Application: NATUFINE™ CMC-L must be used in wine, at least 4-5 days prior to bottling. It prevents the precipitation of tartaric acid crystals (potassium hydrogen tartrate) if the conditions hereafter are considered. Before the addition of NATUFINE™ CMC-L the wine has to be free of any residual protein and fine-filtered. The saturation temperature should be below 20°C. NATUFINE™ CMC-L can be added directly to the wine or diluted in approx. its 10-fold amount of wine. Constant stirring during addition is a prerequisite for homogenous dispersion. Utilisation and Dosage: Physical aspect: transparent, viscos liquid. Preparation and addition: 1. Direct dosage to the wine is possible. For better distribution prepare a solution with approx. its 10-fold amount of wine. 2. Intense stirring during addition 3. Use NATUFINE™ CMC-L at least 4-5 days prior to bottling. EC regulation 606/2009 foresees a maximum dosage of 200 g/hl NATUFINE™ CMC-L !
