Below are suggested guidelines for managers who want improve hourly reporting effectiveness during GEMBA walks: COUNTERMEASURE Ask and/or understand the following questions about operator logs from the hour-by-hour boards on GEMBA walks: 1. Are you achieving your production targets? 2. Are the hour-by-hour boards up to date, clean & orderly? 3. Is favorable performance noted in green / unfavorable in red? 4. Are abnormalities being tracked on the operator logs? 5. Is machine downtime being recorded? 6. Are supervisors and support group managers reviewing and initialing the logs? 7. How quickly is help available when the process is interrupted by a problem that he team leader cannot fix?
