TASK DEVELOPMENT STAGE

T asks students to work in groups of four and writes “The funniest story ever” on the board.

T tells the students that they have to work together and draw a comic strip with their classmates.

To discuss about their own predictions about the task.

To give a kind of orientation about the task.

What does this title tell to you? What do you think is this about?

Ok!. You know the rules, however, we are going to have a new and unbreakable rule, this is the most important. SPEAK IN ENGLISH ALL THE TIME! (I write the rule on the board) If you don’t follow this rule, you are going to be in the black list with a sad face.

Now, these are the instructions: First I ‘m going to give you a coloured card and some color pencils. Then you are going to decide who are going to have the following roles: Drawer(2), painters (2) person in charge of making your classmates to follow the rules (discipline) and give ideas, and a person to ask questions to the teacher and give ideas. After that, you have to draw a funny comic strip with yourselves as the comic’s characters.

The comic strip should have nine scenes like the “rugrats” comic strip. You have to be as creative as you can! You have 20 minutes to finish the comic strip.

POST TASK STAGE

T asks for attention from the class

Closing

To do the last part of the task

Thank you for your attention and say good bye to Miss Patricia.

Now that you finished, you have to tell the story of you comic strip (all the group has to tell a part of the story) and then to perform the story.

Post lesson comments: It was a motivating lesson and the materials were well used, the students looked motivated and engaged with the lesson, however, I took too long in the preparation stage and it affected to the effective use of the time.
