JANAE BARNETT I am 14 years old and will be a freshman next fall attending Pius High School. I love to sing and dance and sometimes I do theatre. I have been with TBEY for almost 5 years; it is like my second home.

JESSICA MCPHANI am in 5th grade and this is my first year dancing at TBEY. They taught me to have confidence and passion in dance. For my future I plan to dance for a very long time. It gives me a feeling that I can’t express with words. Thank you for everything you’ve taught me and the experience was awesome. I hope to come here next year!

PAIGE BELTONI love TBEY, I just started. They are amazing, the teachers are great. Our teachers are fierce!

CAMBREE RUTLIN I have been dancing for almost 3 years. I love dance, my world is dance. Before I got into dance I would be in my room for hours practicing and learning new dances on YouTube. I always wanted to be a gymnast and a dancer. TBEY has offered me a lot of things to do. It has given me a lot of knowledge and good dance techniques and I will never forget this place. Thank you for all of the opportunities you gave me, and I’m looking forward to next year!

ADREAN MAXWELLI’m going to Lincoln Middle School of the Arts. I’ve been dancing for four years. This is my first year in TBEY and I’m having fun.

AJTDSTARS

ZAKIYA WILLIAMSI’m 12 years old and I go to Mount Olive. I’m in the 7th grade. The first day I came to TBEY I was shy, and they taught me a lot of stuff.

SAMOND BUGGSI have been dancing for a very long time now. I just recently joined TBEY and I love it! TBEY challenges me and makes me a well-rounded dancer. I have been interested in the arts since I was little. I sing, dance, act, draw, etc. Dancing helps me express my feelings and let all of my emotions out. Performing arts as a whole just helps me discover my inner self.

MERQUIDES VELEZ, JR.Wassup!!!I am a sophomore at MHSA. I have been dancing for about four years now, and when I first started I fell in love and knew that this is what I want to do for my career. This is my first year at TBEY and I love it. The choreographers are such a pleasure to work with. They pushed me to be the best I can be and I’m glad that I chose this company. In the future I plan to come back to TBEY and take more classes. Thanks for everything Contessa, Desmond, Marissa, Paul, and Chancie. Never mark, always dance full out!

FEATURED YOUTH CHOREOGRAPHERS

JASMINE DAVIS-EVANSI am 18 years old and have been dancing 14 years and counting. Dance styles that I continue to perform are ballet, point, and Middle Eastern dance. My plan is to pursue a dance degree and become a professional dance teacher. This summer I have enjoyed this lovely experience at TBEY.

KAYLENA BARNETT My name is Kaykena Barnett, I am 15yrs old and I love dancing. I have been with TBEY for a little over 5 years now. It’s an amazing experience being here and I learn so much each year, and get new challenges each year. Being a choreographer is awesome and I love the challenges/experiences that come with it. I love TBEY and couldn’t imagine dancing anywhere else.

SHANNON EUBANKSI’m 19 years old. I’ve been with TBEY for four years. Every year I am improving as a dancer. I have one and a half years of college dance experience and continue to excel.

DESHAWN WHITMOREI’ve been with TBEY for 6 years. It has been a good experience for me to become a professional dancer. It took me many years to show people that I can become someone instead of being in the streets. So it’s good that I’m with TBEY. I hope to be with this company for many years. J Love Always, Thanks TBEY!

FEATURED YOUTH DANCE ASSISTANTS

MARISHA JACKSONI am currently attending Milwaukee High School of the Arts as a level 4 dance major. Joining a program called Discovering Our Destiny gave me the motivation to become more experienced in dance. Learning new styles and techniques made me fall in love with dancing. This year joining TBEY has been a fun and loving experience. Learning new styles has been really fun. Being pushed by the TBEY team has taught me to live in the moment.

DIAMOND JONESHello, I am a senior at Pius XI High School. I’ve been dancing since I was five years old. Throughout my younger years I’ve been training and studying several types of dances that I have grown to love. This is my first year at TBEY. As an intern I learned to focus on technique because it helps with the basic foundation of dance. TBEY has made me a greater dancer and performer. I love TBEY!
