Since its inception in 2002, the TAYO Awards Foundation has successfully gained credibility as an institution that recognizes and supports the outstanding contributions of youth organizations to the country. It has attracted more than a thousand youth organizations from all over the Philippines to join the search. These exceptional groups have contributed to the development of their local communities, schools and workplaces, through their innovative and valuable projects. The power of TAYO’s idea has likewise attracted a stellar roster of partners from the private and public sectors, all of whom believe in investing in the capacities and the potentials of the Filipino youth. About the TAYO Awards The TAYO Awards search accepts entries from interested youth groups, organizations, clubs, and societies that are composed of at least 15 members, more than half of which are between 15-30 years old. Submitted project entries must be a recently concluded or an ongoing project or program by the organization. The entries will be judged based on the following criteria: Impact of project entry on stakeholders Harnessing the spirit of volunteerism and citizenship; Creativity and Innovation; and Sustainability and Effective use of Resources. Apart from the prestigious recognition, the winning organizations receive an especially commissioned trophy sculpted by Mr. Toym De Leon Imao, and a grant of Php50,000.00, intended to fund new projects or to support their long-term programs. The annual TAYO Awards is organized by the TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc., the National Youth Commission, and the Office of Senator Bam Aquino. This year’s search is presented by The Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines and supported by SMART Communications, Jollibee, Philippine Airlines, and Lenovo.

About the TAYO Trophy The TAYO trophy was designed and made bysculptor Toym de Leon Imao. A proud product ofthe University of the Philippines and a Fulbrightscholar, Imao is a highly regarded artist whoseworks have graced national monuments and parks,and which have been hailed as contributions of greathistoric and cultural significance.For the TAYO Trophy, he took inspiration fromthe bayanihan spirit of the Filipino, as shown bythe front relief of a group working hand in hand andsharing strength to attain its goals. Imao pays tributeto the collective efforts of a Filipino team, the artistportrays a lone individual harnessing a sail–capturing the spirit of active citizenry charting thepath of the nation.
