A strategic collaborative model by Taylor’s University, School of Hospitality, Tourism & Events that enables its graduates to fast-track their careers into management positions with world class hotel brands.

STEP is a unique training programme that allows industry partners to identify students as a potential talent two years before

they graduate.


STudentEmployment ProgramGeM is a comprehensive management

and leadership development programmedesigned to groom aspiring hospitality management students into promising young hoteliers two years before they

graduate.


Objectives:

• The objective of STEP and GeM is to fast-track the careers of Taylor’s University Hospitality graduates into management position with the top international hotel chains upon graduation.

• Hand picked by the industry experts

• Secured Industrial placement within one or more adopting hotels in South East Asia

• Wide range of exposure and opportunities to work with the industry experts

• Assigned mentor from the hotel to guide the student through the career pathway

• Upon graduation and by fulfilling the recruitment criteria by the respective hotel chain, graduates will be offered a middle level position or acceptance for the hotel’s management career track



The Process

Step 1: Signing a MOU with the hotel

Step 2: Students apply for the program (semester 2)

Step 3: Internal pre-selection based on (language, academic results, motivation and professionalism)

Step 4: Interview by the partner for final selection.

Step 5: Endorsement by the hotel –Adoption Ceremony.

Step 6: Students are grouped into one special class and the 3 trainings commence with the hotel.

Step 7: Students do internships within one of the hotel chain’s property.

Step 8: Career plan is drafted between students and future employer

Step 9: Students graduate and offered a Mid Management or acceptance to the hotel’s leadership career track

How works?

• Potential students would be selected and developed as future hotel manager

• Students will undergo a structured training and development based on the General Manager’s competencies identified while studying with us at the University

• Successful students will be assigned mentors usually General Managers from the adopting industry partner to groom the students throughout the journey

• Upon graduation, after due completion of two internships with the adopting hotel partner and accomplishing the recruitment criteria, the students will be offered the position of “Hotel Executive”
