CHURCH PLANTING MINISTRY
Myikyina Minister Seminar: By Manasseh Fish
Last January, I went to teach at the
Myitkyina Ministers' Seminar. Mr.
Lemesi, an evangelist working in
Maing Hsu accompanied me. We left
Taunggyi on last Jan 8 and arrived at
Myitkyina on Jan 11. Then, I taught the seminar from Jan
12 to 16. There were over 80 church leaders coming to
attend the seminar from different parts of Kachin State.
Through the Lord's grace, the seminar was done
successfully. I had a good time of fellowship and
encouragement with the church leaders especially the
church leaders coming from China-Myanmar border area and the Communist China. The church leaders coming
from the Communist China have invited me to come to China sometimes to conduct the seminars for them. During
the seminar, I also got the opportunity to encourage the students of Myitkyina Three Months Bible School and
Myitkyina Christian College, and to visit five churches through their invitations.
Baptisms: New Converts!
Last January Mr. Peter Fish baptized two tribal villagers. He was
supposed to baptize three persons, but he could only baptized two
because the other was ill at that time and could not participate.
Both villagers were ancestor worshippers. Ancestor worshippers
are people who worship their deceased ancestors and family
members. They believe that their deceased ancestors, now in
spiritual form, are divine and
have divine power. How
marvelous and wonderful is
God that He has brought
these ancestor worshippers
into the light of the Gospel
through Mr. Peter Fish, one of our church planters in Shan state, Myanmar.
Rejoice with us! Rejoice with me for I have found my lost sheep (Luke 15:6).
Around the Salween River: Mr. Lemesi and Mr. Poe Thar are sharing the
gospel among the ancestor worshipers and animists in the east and west of
Salween River. Every tribal village in that area has a village shaman who is
also the village chieftain. One village shaman has told Mr. Lemesi and Mr.
Poe Thar that if one of them come to live in the village, they will become
Christians. The village shaman believes that the presence of a Christian
evangelist, a God’s shaman, in the village will protect the villagers from the
evil powers. The village shaman and villagers have truly recognized the power

of God. How wonderful! However it would be difficult for Mr. Leme Si and Mr. Poe Thar to leave the children
they have adopted without a proper accommodation for them. They are looking for donors who will help them
build a hostel for the children they have adopted so that one of them can go and live with the villagers and the
other one with the children. The tribal children ministry is a success. They adopt some tribal children from the
villages and send them to the school for education in Maing Hsu – the only town with a school in that Salween
River region. They also teach them the Gospel. All the villages in that region love Mr. Leme Si and Mr. Poe Thar
for their genuine concern and love for both physical and spiritual warfare of the villagers.
WOMAN MINISTRY
First Khamti Christian Women Seminar and Ruth Fish
Ruth flew to Khamti on Jan 25. Ruth taught the seminar for the women from Jan 26 to 31, for a week. Kahmti is
a small Naga town located in the Himalayan wilderness (northern Myanmar) which can be accessible only by air.
Ruth was told by the women that it was the first Christian women seminar ever conducted for them in Khamti.
Ruth has also been asked by the women to come back to them in next year also. The seminar was productive and
a fun event for everyone in the town. The men from the Khamti church took the responsibility for cooking at the
seminar so that their wives could attend the seminar! Ministries for women, such as the woman seminar, are
important in Myanmar as women in Myanmar culture are less fortunate than other members of the society.
The Tribal Children Ministry of Mr. Leme Si
Learning that there are many underprivileged Shan and Lisu tribal
children in villages around the Salween River, Leme Si started the tribal
children ministry last year. He has adopted a few children and sending
them to the school in his town – Maing Hsu. He also teaches the children
about the Bible and Jesus. Now they are growing in the knowledge of
God and the Bible. The poor parents of the tribal children and the
villagers, who cannot send the children to the school on their own, have
witnessed the goodness of God through Mr. Leme Si’s compassion. Mr.
Leme Si, although helping out the children with all the means he has, is
also looking for sponsors for the tribal children. The monthly cost to take
care of a child is $10 ($120 a year). We would like to welcome you to
participate in helping out these tribal children.
TAUNGGYI BIBLE COLLEGE
In the 10th year of the school ministry: by Aaron Ngwa (Fish)
Taunggyi Bible College is 10
years old now. It was founded
in 2005 as a Bible training
school to train evangelists and
church planters for the
Taunggyi Christian Center
church planting ministry in
Shan state, Myanmar. But it
has now grown into a bachelor
degree school that train all the
different tribal peoples
coming from different regions
of Myanmar. The Lord has
been faithful all these ten
years through toil and snare. At the start of the 2014 academic year Taunggyi
Bible College was struggling through a very discouraging financial situation. Yet
His will prevailed regardless of challenges, toils and obstacles. The Lord has
showed His support for the school through churches and Christian individuals
who showed their support by donations and other means. Taunggyi Bible College
continues to thrive because a small group of very dedicated churches and,
especially, faithful Christian men and women believe in the vision of the school!
Our gratitude knows no bound. May the Lord continue blessing the Christian
individuals and churches who has helped Taunggyi Bible College to survive.
2015 academic year is going to be a fresh start with changes. TBC is planning to
offer a basic Microsoft Office training program to the students. More advanced
agriculture training program is to be implemented. The
school will be running for 8 months (June-February). It
used to be 6 months only. There will a new president
of the school – me. Manasseh Fish will be the director
of the trustee board and the chancellor of the school.
2015 is going to be an exciting adventure. But, all in
all, Taunggyi Bible College exists to train Christian
leaders, evangelists, ministers and church planters for
Myanmar – a mission frontier. This vision we will
carry without any change until the Second Coming of
Christ.
