General Description:
Our chapter held a meeting early into the semester to decide events and the time they would be held
for the semester. This included brainstorming using ideas the officers came up with earlier and previous
years as a jump start.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This event allowed members to have a direct influence on the number of events conducted and the type
of events done. Also allowed them to know significantly in advance to reserve time for TBP. This gives
the members opportunities for development and learning that would be relevant and useful to them.
Organization and Administration:
The officers organized the meeting, and the members attended.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Room which was free
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
The meeting proved quite useful as we did not encounter any problems with event through the
semester. However, it seemed most members were already too busy with academics and did not have a
lot of time to dedicate to anything else.

General Description:
Prior to the career fair, our chapter hosted a Garmin presentation to give students an opportunity to
connect with the recruiters. This presentation was open to all students.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This event gives our members the professional opportunity to talk with the recruiters prior to the career
fair. It also improves the chapter’s image to all the students on campus as well as the recruiter that is
present.
Organization and Administration:
The officers organized the time and place for the presentation with the help of career services and aided
recruiters to the location and with other miscellaneous issues.
Other groups involved: Career Services on campus
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Room which was free, and Recruiters who made arrangements with
the Career Service representatives.
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
The recruiters were very appreciative of the help and had a positive image of TBP after the event. Some
members showed up who were previous interns with Garmin which allowed them to share their
experience. Positive experience for members, recruiters and the other ~20 students that attended.

are, what we do, and what they need to join us.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This event helped Tau Beta Pi gain more recognition and made our presence around campus known. It
also promoted the engineering profession by giving the new engineers a goal to strive for.
Organization and Administration:
Officers spoke with the professors and arranged a day that they could speak to the class briefly.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Class time which was provided by the professors
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
This project helped make our presence on campus known and inspired new engineers to achieve more
so that they can join our prestigious organization. This semester an electee mentioned he heard about
TBP like that and had been aspiring to join us since.

General Description:
Our chapter interviewed all the candidates to get to know them on a more personal level as a part of the
application process. This helped us determine their personal qualities alongside of the academics and
find their alma matter.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
The interview allowed us to determine whether the candidate’s personal goals aligned with the goals of
Tau Beta Pi. It also helped the candidate develop a connection to the organization on a personal level.
Organization and Administration:
The officers interviewed the candidates, and a guideline of questions to ask was provided to them.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Room which was free
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
It was helpful to have met and spoken with the candidate as it ensured that all the candidates could
have at least 1 person discuss their personal qualities in the voting session to determine if they would be
a fit for the organization.

General Description:
The active member body voted on the candidates and approved them or rejected them to join Tau Beta
Pi.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Ensure that candidates added to our chapter will support the goals of and contribute to Tau Beta Pi.
Organization and Administration:
The officers introduced candidate and what they think about them based on the interview, and other
members who know the candidate are free to add more content before they all vote.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Tacos totaling about $95 were purchased to encourage attendance
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
It was helpful to have had interviews to get discussion about candidates started. Getting all the
members’ opinion also keeps them involved in the organization and provides a better idea regarding the
alma matter of the candidate which are both great.

licensure exists. Also helps professional development of the members as it will open them to more
opportunities if they pursue it.
Organization and Administration:
Officers spoke with professor and made arrangement for him to give a presentation.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Tacos totaling about $95 were purchased to encourage attendance
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
Was very useful to our members as most of them did not know much about getting licensed prior to the

General Description:
Presentation that highlighted the things to consider when choosing a graduate program and good
practices in writing a great application. Also went over some contacts for graduate admission at
universities that attended the fair at the national convention, and shared application waivers for all
interested members.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Our school does not have a graduate school fair or similar event to give the students a chance to talk
with the people involved in admission. Since our president was able to meet a few of them at
convention, he shared the things he had learned and what could help others. Helps promote
educational and professional development in our members.
Organization and Administration:
President compiled presentation with contact info of all admission adviser and other tips he had
received when at convention.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Hosted right after the PE Info Session, so shared same food.
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
Was very useful to our members as most of them did hear much about what the recruiters are looking
for. Attendance was not as high as desired as most of the members are looking to go straight to work.

General Description:
Members and electees chose time slots and we polished the bent on campus.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Ensure a positive image of Tau Beta Pi on campus, as well as share who we are with people walking by.
Also allows members to socialize in small groups, and get to know each other a bit better.
Organization and Administration:
We had at least one officer during each time slot, and had a max of 2 other people with them at a time.
The schedule of who should be working on it at any given time was made available to the members so
that they could remember.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: About $15 for 3 cans of polish, Advisor provided rags
Problems: Finished too quick
Overall Evaluation / Results:
Great event to make Tau Beta Pi have a greater presence on campus, and the members who
volunteered had an enjoyable time too. We will keep doing this event. Problem was that it did not take
4-5 hour to shine the bent as initially expected so a lot more people (about 15) signed up for a time lot
but did not get the chance to shine it as it was done in like 2 hours.

Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Inform initiates the importance and impact of Tau Beta Pi and help grow the Tau Beta Pi community by
bringing in more qualified members.
Organization and Administration:
The officers arrived early to set up the lights and ensure everything was functional. They also rehearsed
the ceremony to minimize any chance for error. Once the initiates all arrived, they were all escorted to
the auditorium for the ceremony. After the ceremony the new members were dismissed and the officers
cleaned up before concluding the event.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Some cookies costing about $20 were purchased as snacks for after
the ceremony.
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:

General Description:
Members played soccer together along with other students, mostly freshman and sophomores. Our TBP
chapter reserved the field on Friday afternoons to ensure everyone would have a place to play. Typical
attendance ranged from 10 – 20 depending on who was available, and we played for an hour.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Provide a casual and fun environment to destress at the end of the week and give the chance to
freshman who are potential members to connect with our members and hence want to be a part of TBP.
TBP members are not limited to studying and classwork, and this event helps others see it is possible to
keep high grades and have a good time.
Organization and Administration:
President spoke with the campus services representative and reserved the field. Everyone that usually
play comes and brings friends. We also have professors join us often and had TBP professors play too.
Other groups involved: General student body
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Field which was provided by school, and balls which individuals had
Problems: Sporadic; sometimes high attendance, other times low.
Overall Evaluation / Results:
It is a very fun activity, and our members enjoy it. The other students are appreciative that they do not
have to worry about finding a place to play.

General Description:
Our chapter celebrated Pi Day early as it was during Spring Break. We handed out pie to anyone who
could say at least 10 digits of pi.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
Improves our image on campus and is one of the main occasions celebrated by TBP. Our members and
the general student body all enjoy the event.
Organization and Administration:
Officers arranged to have a table at the library and took turns to man the table throughout the day.
Other groups involved: General student body
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Pie costing about $100, and space was free.
Problems: Ran out of pie within 3 hours
Overall Evaluation / Results:
It is a very fun activity, and everyone enjoyed it. The most digits that anyone reached was above 300 and
we will try to get more pie for next time. Most of our members came by to get some pi during the event
and advertise it to others so were very involved as well.

General Description:
Officers went into the sophomore engineering classes to briefly talk about Tau Beta Pi and advertise the
engineering future session later in the month.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This event helped Tau Beta Pi gain more recognition and made our presence around campus known. It
also promoted the engineering profession by giving aspiring engineers a goal to strive for.
Organization and Administration:
Officers spoke with the professors and arranged a day that they could speak to the class briefly.
Other groups involved: General student body
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Class time which was provided by the professors
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
This project helped make our presence on campus known and inspired new engineers to achieve more
so that they can join our prestigious organization. Also helped us ensure that we have enough people
interested to have the EF session. Will probably try to do again as this audience is closer to being
potential members than the freshman classes.

General Description:
Our chapter planned to go to the airshow in Tuscan as a social event. Interested members and some
students were carpooled together from Prescott to Tuscan. Since we are an aeronautical university, this
event had high interest from our members.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This was planned to be a fun social event that met the interest of most of our members. This was to
develop the community feeling of being a part of TBP. Although initially a lot of people expressed
interest, not many people signed up to go. So, then it was opened to other group of students and saw us
partnering with the international student association to send people to the show.
Organization and Administration:
The people participating met and chose who would be willing to drive, and ensure we have enough
space for everyone. We had about 6 people total attend this event.
Other groups involved: International Student Association
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Gas for the trip which was paid by the people travelling, and cars
and drivers were chosen from the people going.
Problems: Initially had high interest from the chapter at the event plan meeting, but still barely any
members attended the event due to the time dedication it entailed.
Overall Evaluation / Results:
It was a fun event but took the entire day. We may continue to do this event as there was plenty of
interest from the general student body. It revealed the issue of members expressing interest but still not
participating, so we will try to find a solution to this problem.

General Description:
Our chapter hosted the team chartering engineering futures session. We had about 20 people attend
the session.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
This event was intended for the professional development of engineers as they always work in teams. It
helped others learn about TBP and learn something so that they remember us.
Organization and Administration:
President requested a session and coordinated with EF lecturer to determine a day and time that would
work. Officers reserved a room and arranged food for the event.
Other groups involved: College of Engineering
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Room and food were provided to us free of charge by the college of
engineering in support of the EF session.
Problems: Did not interest most of the members, due to the time commitment it entailed.
Overall Evaluation / Results:
All the attendees that I spoke with said they had a fun time and felt it was useful. We will try to host
more sessions in the future but may have to target the student body as our audience and not our
chapter specifically.

General Description:
District conference in Albuquerque, NM. All the chapters gave reports and had many discussions to
come up with ideas to develop their chapter as well as others. There was also a speaker and an alumni
panel which provided more guidance to the chapters.
Purpose and Relationship to the Objectives of Tau Beta Pi:
The district conference helped connect all the chapters in Tau Beta Pi and allowed them to work
together to improve their chapters, and hence Tau Beta Pi. Not only did work with and get to know
other excellent engineers, but we also returned with innovative ideas to help improve each of our
chapters when we returned home.
Organization and Administration:
The conference was organized by our District Directors, Chris Stemple and Allen Erickson.
Other groups involved: No
Cost and Personnel Requirements: Food, Lodging, and Travel covered by TBP
Problems: None
Overall Evaluation / Results:
The district conference gave the members an understanding how other chapters are doing and how the
national organization is making progress. The opportunity to work together with so many bright people
is not to be missed and we will make sure to take advantage of this opportunity again next year.
