1st ANNUAL TASTE OF VIENNAhas come and gone and from all accounts the event was a big success. Several vendors sold out completely and I doubt other vendors were far behind. There was some worry that the forecast rain would dampen the festival but the availability of dining tents and overall decent weather for the most part kept everyone dry and full. The vendors did a great job providing varying items from their typical restaurant menus to fit the mobile format.

YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH TACOS
Julie and Patrick Bazin showed their community support personally manning the booth for Bazins on Church as well as their new restaurant Alegria, serving out some body warming tacos. They even served an item not on the menu under their roof (though it might be now that it was a hit) with their shrimp tacos.

Yirasai Sushi had the perfect solution to eating sushi with an occupied hand holding an umbrella. The one zip triangular spicy tuna roll held all the authentic goodness intact and had a nice spicy kick long after I had finished my sampling. Neat Trick.

to Tumeric restaurant before, but after having a bowl of their chickpea curry with delicious, warm, and right to the core basmati rice, topped with a crispy samosa they have got me sold.The chickpeas had a faint cinnamon taste which paired with the cumin perfectly. The curry was a great consistency between stew and sauce, melting into the rice by firm enough to remain on the potatoes and chickpeas.
