Dear Friends, Tarry House, Inc. celebrated its 51st year providing behavioral health and recovery services to the constituents of Summit County in 2018. Tarry House provided residential recovery/treatment, respite housing, supportive housing and community psychiatric and supportive treatment (CPST) and counseling services to nearly 202 different people in 2018. Overall, Tarry House provided 7366 total unit days of service in its respite and residential treatment home, about 2200 tenant days of supported housing and about 1000 units of CPST and Counseling Services. Tarry House went through State surveys, audits and a CARF Accreditation Survey in 2018 and received numerous positive comments about the environment for which we provide services and many positive comments related to the services we provide. There were very few recommendations. In 2018, Tarry House continued its support of the ADM Board Levy Support Committee’s ADM Recovery Challenge; a family friendly, 5k obstacle course. Tarry House was a $1500 sponsor. Over 400 people participated, and monies were raised to support the Levy. Tarry House Executive Director Mike Bullock once again was the race’s director. Team Tarry House, for the 16th year in a row, had 18 runners participate in the Akron Marathon. Almost all of our Tarry House employees took part in the 14th annual Tarry House Staff Retreat at the Mingo Pavilion at Sand Run Metro Park. Several employees received service anniversary awards in 2018: Ron Rett, Stephina Bagnoli, Victor Ferracane, and Alonda Brazil all celebrated 3 years working for Tarry House. Tarry House had a Tarry House Golf Outing fundraiser in October. The event included golf, or putt-putt golf, dinner and many raffles to win fabulous prizes. Fun was had by all and Tarry House raised about $6000. The Tarry House staff members, the board of trustees and the people we serve thank the many people and organizations who have supported our mission for its many years. We look forward to 2019 celebrating 52 years as a not-for-profit corporation, serving Summit County.
