This is why I decided that the lowest age of our target audience would be ten years old; because our film has a PG certification so does not contain any themes that would be considered unsuitable for children. However, as our short film also contains elements of drama and intrigue, I thought that an older audience would still enjoy our production. Therefore, the oldest members of our target audience are thirty years old. We will target our audience mainly with social media as young adults tend to visit sites like Twitter and Facebook at least once a day. Why did I choose these:First of all I chose the target audience because research shows that films with an adventure element are usually popular amongst families and a younger audience. The gender of our target audience is unisex as I dont think that the fantasy and adventure genre appeals to just one gender. However, as all of the characters in our sequence are female, we realise that our short film would probably appeal more to a female audience as they will find it easier to relate and empathise with our protagonist. The film is aimed at people in the socio-economic group C1, C2, D and E because these are the average working people or manual workers (who have jobs like a bank clerk, or shop assistants) or people who dont work. As our main target socio-economic group will be at work during the day we thought that it would be appropriate to have our short film available on YouTube as they would be able to access this at any time (for example, when they have returned home from work). I think that if we aimed the film at people of a high class (group A) then because of their jobs and lifestyle they wouldnt have time to watch short films on YouTube in their spare time. I decided to aim our production at mixed ethnicity because I didnt think it would appeal to one ethnicity more than others.Other films/TV shows audience would like:

Alice in Wonderland Once Upon a Time

Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

I thought that the target audience would enjoy these films/TV shows as they have similar elements to our production. For example, all of these examples involve the main characters travelling to a different world. Additionally, the protagonists in both Alice in Wonderland and Narnia are teenagers and the main protagonists in our short film (Alexa and Clarissa) are also both teenagers. Once Upon a Time contains drama and intrigue as does our narrative. Therefore, I think that these would appeal to the target audience.
